Bright, open floor plan, high ceilings and three skylights, separate 900 SF apt with a private backyard, kitchen, wood stove, TV/cable, D/W, W/D, A/C, Wifi, bus. Well located blocks from Alberta Arts, Williams Hub, Mississippi shops & so many amazing restaurants. The space Adorable rear unit of a duplex in a uniquely renovated 50's Baptist Church. Bright and open floor plan, lofty vaulted ceilings, remote controlled black-out covers on skylights, separate entrance to a 900 SF apt with a partially private backyard, full kitchen, wood stove, W/D, A/C, Fast Wifi, right on the bus-line. Well located blocks from Alberta Arts & great shops & restaurants. There is a king-sized bed in the bedroom, with the main bathroom accessible through the bedroom or through the kitchen. The bed has a memory foam topper which is removable if one prefers a bit firmer bed. (please let me know to remove it before your stay if you like a firmer bed!) there is a deep tub in the bathroom where one could take a relaxing bath or shower. The extra half bath off of the kitchen, offers convenience for couples and families. Ample storage in the kitchen cupboards for food storage, with tons of appliances, utensils and kitchen gadgets that really go above and beyond the ordinary airBNB. The refrigerator is full-sized, as well as the microwave, with an extra large toaster oven. There is a full sized washer, dryer and a dishwasher. In the laundry room there is a full sized automatic electric air-mattress that can sleep two more people. (The listing says "accommodates up to 4" because it can comfortably sleep one couple in the king bed and another couple in an airbed.) With one days notice I can set up the extra airbed in the living room if desired. (There is a $15 additional fee per person up to the 4 person maximum) for setting up the extra bed, washing extra linens and towels and general increased use of resources. The bathroom and kitchen is well stocked with morning essentials, like morning coffee, creamer, filtered water and a wide variety of teas. Spices, cooking oils and a variety of sugar-types are also available. Toiletry essentials including a variety of samples so in case you forget to pack something.. we've got you covered. The apartment is in the back half of the building, accessible through a long pathway and side-yard so it is set back off the street and pretty quiet and relatively private. I own the building and partner and I live in the front half, street-side. We're often home evenings and weekends and available to help out with anything as needed. This building was used since the mid-50's as a Baptist church. The home boasts big windows, real plants, interesting art gathered from my travels, refinished real hardwood floors and quirky furnishings described somewhere between a vintage-americana and a chic-naturalism vibe. The location is probably the best part about the rental. It's located very near 3 awesome indie shopping and foodie hubs in town, NOT right in the heart of things (thus remaining safe and QUIET!) but still right in-between and within walking distance of the Mississippi, Williams and Alberta Arts communities. - Free Wi-Fi access. - Washer & Dryer - Wood-burning stove with lots of wood on hand. - Wardrobe and dresser for clothing storage with wood hangers. - Extra bathrobes, 1 Large and 1 Medium. - simple but well kept, grassy backyard with patio and table & chairs. - 1.5 bathrooms. - Large Dining room table perfect for dining with up to 6-8 people - Full kitchen capabilities, induction stove-top, electric oven, full sized microwave, coffee maker, French press, toaster oven, dishwasher and a kettle for tea. Many cups, mugs, dishes, utensils and pots, pans and baking gear great for a dinner-party for 8-10 people. - Giant big-screen TV (55") with Direct TV basic cable channels, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, DVD Blu-ray player - Small Library with leave-a-book-take-a-book honor policy. - Two blocks from "Everybody Rents Bicycles" for an easy cheap way to see the city while also staying active. Things NOT in the unit but one could ask to use: -any specific toiletries like a razor or sunscreen. - any specific baking/cooking needs like butter. - bicycles, owned by us, (and fit to our bodies, not one-size fits all) but negotiated in advance to possibly borrow. I'm often available in person, especially in evenings and weekends and always by phone or text for questions or advice regarding hotspots, restaurants, shopping, hiking, nightlife or bike-rides. The North Williams corridor is historically the jazz/blues/speakeasy section of town back in the 50's and 60's. Since then N. Williams has undergone a transformation in urban renewal, and the HUB shopping district about 8 blocks south of us has seen recent development over the last few years, home to several fabulous restaurants, yoga studios, wine-bars, coffee shops and great boutique shopping. It's definitely an up-and coming area with several new apartment buildings and mixed-use retail developments. There is a Natural Grocers just a 7 minute walk away, great small indie grocery store called Cherry Sprout for local produce also a few blocks away, a convenience store 1 block away, and a New Seasons giant natural foods grocery store to the south about 15 blocks down Williams. Williams is a north running one-way, known for being the main bicycle super-highway connecting the Central east-side to North Portland. To the east, we are just a few doors down from Alberta street, and 10 blocks west of the lower end of the fun & funky Alberta Arts District; a 5 minute bike-ride, or 15 minute walk. Alberta Arts Neighborhood begins at 10th and Alberta, stretching all the way up to about 36th. To the west about another 10 blocks is fabulous Mississippi street, packed with great shops, galleries, restaurants and bars. We are conveniently located right on a bus line, the #44 serving the Rose Garden/Convention Center/Moda Center, Downtown, St. Johns and PCC. A few block walk away on MLK, catch the #6 for service to Goose Hollow, Portland City Center, N/NE Portland, Jantzen Beach/Hayden Island. I also have a women's hybrid (mountain-bike/10-speed) bicycle and lock that can be borrowed with a $300 refundable security deposit and a signed borrowing contract. **We practice safe cleaning procedures and safety measures currently during this COVID-19 times! Myself and up to two cleaners now double our time and attention to the normal cleaning procedures during a turnover day in between guests. We wear masks and gloves while cleaning the unit at all times. We have had to increase our cleaning fee to $75 due to these increased costs, plus our commitment to our cleaners to earning a livable wage. Guest access the entire rear apartment is self-sufficient and private. no others will be accessing the space besides those who have booked it. Kitchen, bedroom, living room and washer/dryer in the laundry room, 1.5 bathrooms, backyard and side yard entry. The yard is about 80% private. we do use the side yard to run our dog around a few times a day, but we do not enter the back portion where guest canopy and patio table and chairs are (unless the frisbee goes off course on rare occasions) Other things to note Street parking has become slightly more of an issue on my block since a 7-plex was built next-door. It can be challenging finding parking right out front now in the evenings, but it opens right up during the day. Street parking is free and you shouldn't have trouble parking within a block from the house. The driveway is for my use, (my husband and I both park there) but in a pinch it's ok to park there (as long as it's as far to the right as possible so we can still fit one of our cars in to the left.) Because we have numerous guests who suffer from allergy issues, we cannot accept pets as it jeopardizes their health and wellness, including my own mother who stays there often and is severely allergic to pet dander. PLEASE DO NOT ASK IF WE WILL MAKE AN EXCEPTION FOR YOUR PET! Registration Details 15-119545-000-00-HO
