The Birdhouse Studio Apt - Downtown Wilmington

Stay in a little piece of Wilmington, NC history! Originally the first A&P Grocery store in Wilmington, this studio apartment is fittingly named "The Birdhouse" because of the beautiful bird mural painted by Artist Britt Harrison. This apartment is a 12min walk to the historic downtown area, a 5min walk to the Castle Street Arts & Antiques district, a 30min drive to Wrightsville Beach and a 15min drive to the airport. Perfect for traveling couples or for work trips! The space This studio apartment features a fully functional kitchen with a gas stove, a dedicated desk and work space, private laundry area, and off-street parking. Recent updates include fresh paint, a brand-new shower, and whole house filtration system. Please note the off-street parking spot is best for SUVS and trucks with a higher clearance. Cars will scrape because of the incline. There is free street parking available close by if you do have a car. Guest access Guests have access to the apartment and parking spot. There is a shared wall to our personal storage space in the same building but there is a fire wall door locked on both sides to ensure privacy. You may hear us on the other side of the wall on occasion. Other things to note This apartment is in an urban area and located on the corner of a very busy intersection. There is lots of road noise that you can hear inside the apartment at all times of the day and night. The apartment also walks right onto the sidewalk, so there will be pedestrians walking by the entrance. We love being close to the hustle and bustle of downtown but realize this lifestyle isn’t for everyone, so please be aware. There is a sound machine provided as well as ear plugs. We have one, actively recording camera. It overlooks the off street parking area. The device is on the exterior of the property. This device is there for the protection of our property and our guests. We consider our area very safe - we just want to make sure we’re protected in the case of an incident. This also provides much needed lighting in the parking area. We do not offer any discounts. If you check about a price and then wait before booking, it could change as Airbnb adjusts prices based on demand. At the moment, we are not interested in renting for longer than 1 month at a time. If a renter stays with us for a month and all goes well, we could be interested in renting longer.
