3 Bedroom, Affordable, Clean St. John Cottage

Starfruit Cottage is a charming traditional island home that has all the necessary accommodations for a comfortable safe stay. Bedrooms and living spaces are fully airconditioned. Wifi throughout the home. Smart TVs are in all bedrooms and the living room for your entertainment. Kitchen is equipped with Stainless Steel appliances, and all the kitchen utensils to prepare your meals. Short 8-minute drive to Cruz Bay and about a 12-minute drive to the nearest National Park Beach, Hawksnest. The space Starfruit Cottage is an island family home affectionately named after our sweet bearing starfruit tree that welcomes our guests as they arrive on our carport. If you are lucky and "she" is in season, you can enjoy some of her fruits throughout your entire stay. This home was built in 1979, and has survived all major hurricanes experienced in the US Virgin Islands since then. In 2019, we remodeled our home to offer upgraded, comfortable, and affordable accommodations for our family, friends, and now guests when they visit and explore St. John. We hope that you enjoy your stay as much as we do when we return back home to our beloved island. PLEASE NOTE: Currently, the Territory is experiencing an increase number of scheduled and unscheduled power outages. Our home does not have any backup power source and therefore you may experience electrical service interruption at any given time. Please consider this reality if you choose to book your stay with us. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. For current updates about power outages, please visit the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority's website. Guest access We strongly recommend renting a vehicle with 4-wheel drive. Preferably a jeep or small to mid-size SUV to maneuver the hilly/steep terrain. Another option for a rental is a vehicle with All Wheel Drive but please make sure that the vehicle is not low to the ground. Private parking is available to accommodate guest during your stay. One vehicle fits easily on the carport. Other things to note Any damages that exceed normal wear and tear to the house may result in being charged $1,000 or above. Smoking in the house is an automatic charge of $1,000, and you or any of your guests will be banned from booking our home ever again. No Kitchen Table or Chairs. It is important to mention that our home does not have a kitchen table or chairs. We do have 4 TV Dinner Tables, fold up chairs and a fold up table that can be erected and used throughout the home for your convenience. Another important thing to mention is in our surrounding community, there are chickens that roam freely and sometimes you may hear them crowing or see one in the yard. Our yard is fenced to help prevent them from coming in but one or two may occasionally get by and pay you visit. Please don't be alarmed. If you scare them away they won't bother you. Please don't leave any trash bags with food outside of the cottage or any food at all because this will attract ALL of our local island wildlife to visit and we really don't want that.
