Character cottage
Description
Fourways is steeped in history, with exposed stone walls and a stunning original fireplace in the cosy living room. Just a 15 minute walk to Brixham's restaurants, idyllic harbour and infamous Golden Hind pirate ship. Away from the hustle & bustle but close enough to be part of the town. With four bedrooms and two living spaces set across three floors, along with a quiet office, Fourways is a perfect getaway for two families or a group of eight. The space Fourways is a snug, historical house on the oldest street in Brixham, perfect for friends and families getting together. In 2022 the home was refreshed to a high standard, with modern, comfortable touches introduced throughout. The exposed beams, wonky woodwork and preserved stone walls, maintain the unique character of the property. On entering Fourways, a cosy living area with sofas, a wine fridge and bespoke dining table for eight await. Off the main dining area is a smaller living room with seating for five and bean bags for three. Cosy up next to the original Brixham fireplace - perfect for a glass of Sharpham wine, Brixham Gin or Heron Valley Apple Juice. The galley kitchen was newly fitted in December 2022 and has an electric cooker, hob, microwave, fridge and Nespresso machine. There is also a downstairs WC and a small area for coats and boots. Up the spiral stairs, the master kingsize bedroom and an additional double are tastefully decorated. The bathroom, containing a bath and sink, was renovated in 2023. Climb the stairs again, and you'll find two tastefully decorated bedrooms; kingsize and twin/super king, plus a shower room complete with shower, sink and toilet. There is also a small office on this floor that can fit a travel cot. Should you choose to bring young children, there are two high chairs available that attach to the table and one travel cot, but please note Fourways may not be suitable for young toddlers or elderly people. It has steep spiral stairs and stone steps in the garden. Guest access The whole house is yours to enjoy. Four bedrooms, an office, a bathroom, a shower room, a downstairs WC with space to hang up your coats, a kitchen, a living room, a dining/living room, a corridor for paddle boards and a garden. Outside there is a multi-levelled walled garden with a rattan seating cube and parasol. It is accessed via a corridor in which you can store paddleboards and through a stone garage where you will find buckets and nets for crabbing. The roof of the garage is level with the garden and surrounded by a fence to ensure the safety of pets and children. Unfortunately, there is no parking on-site and parking in Brixham is very difficult in the summer, but Fourways is just far enough from the harbour that you can park in the surrounding streets for free. You will be sent parking instructions prior to your arrival. Parking is free on the roads surrounding the house. You may have a short walk to your car if you do not snag the spaces directly opposite the property. To unload your belongings, you can pull up at the front of the property. Other things to note Your cleaning fee covers rented linen and towels at £95 and a full clean of the property at £100 We do accept month-long bookings, but please note there may be an additional cleaning fee for the housekeeper to change the bedding and clean every two weeks unless you opt to supply your own bedding.
