(Winter Season) 民泊 / Matsuo House / Double Room

Standing about 800 meters above the sea level, Zao Onsen is famous for its natural hotspring and beautiful nature. During the warmer months, it is popular destination for hiking and trekking. During winter months, Zao turns into ski resort, famous for its snow quality and Juhyo (the Snow Monster). The space # The House Our guesthouse is set in the hotspring town. A little bit away from the main street, away from the business but still able to access the nearby attractions and shops within walking distance. This is a 2 storey guesthouse with 4 guest room available, we can accommodate up to maximum of 10-14 guests at a time. All guest room are Japanese style tatami room, located on the 2nd floor. There are 2 toilets (Japanese style and Western style) and 2 wash basin on the 2nd floor. Another unisex toilet on the 1st floor. Host's room, Shower/Bath room, Kitchen and Living Room also on 1st floor. Please note that this is a home-stay style guesthouse, some facilities will be shared with host and other guests. No Smoking throughout the house, smoking is possible outside the house. # Guest Room (Room 1 Haru) Good value for budget travellers. Japanese style room (6 tatami mats, 10㎡) good for solo or 2 guests. Please refrain from eating in your room or keeping food that may attract flies , ants and other insects. Eating and drinking only allow in living room/ dining room. Please shut the windows, lock the door, turn off the lights and electrical appliances when you are not in the house to help conserve the energy. # Check-In / Check-Out Check-in time is after 2pm Check-out time is 11am * Early check-in or late check-out may be possible depending on room occupancy. * In case early check-in or late check-out is not possible, guest can keep the luggage with us while exploring the neighborhood. # Living Room & Kitchen Feel free to use the living room and kitchen. Free coffee and tea, you may use the microwave and toaster to heat up outside bought food. Shared pans and utensil are available if you wish to cook some simple meal. Please clean up after use. Guest may use our refregerator. Please mark clearly that the item belongs to you to avoid any misunderstanding or trouble. Please follow the recycling rules for garbage. # Shower/ Bath Room Japanese style bathing area which includes both bath tub and shower. Basic toiletries such as Body Shampoo,Shampoo, Conditioner and hair dryer are provided. Please follow the Japanese practice of taking a bath: Get into the tub only after having a shower and do not soap or shampoo yourself while in the bath. Please inform us before hand if you wish to take a bath so we can fill the tub with hot water. * Onsen is very famous in Zao Onsen, we strongly suggest you to experience it during your stay here. There are 3 public onsen available and severel foot bath, all with own unique and temperatures. We provide onsen towel and public onsen ticket if you interest to do some onsen hopping. You may keep the towel and return it upon check-out. # Laundry Guest are allow to use the laundry machine, however we do not have drying machine. You can dry sun-dry the cloths on the laundry pole outside of the house. # Amenities (Free of Charge) Free Wifi throughout the house. Coffee and Tea Basic Toiletries (Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Shampoo) Hair Dryer Onsen Towel (please return upon check-out) Guest access Guests can eccess everywhere except host's room which is on the 1st floor. During your stay Me and my wife are live together in the same house on 1st floor, so we can chat and exchange information when you are here. When we are at home, we will try to engage as much as possible with our guest and hope we can become friends. I can speak Japanese, English, while my wife can speak English, Chinese, Thai, Malay and Japanese (she is a Thai and Malaysian mixed). Please do not hesitate to ask if you need any assistant, we will try our best to help you. Other things to note Japanese law requires that we ask every foreign guest to present his/ her passport, a copy of which we will keep on file during your stay with us.
