Beacon Hill Retreat
On a cul-de-sac in quiet residential area. Good spot for traveling nurses, mill workers, hikers, hunters, fishermen. One minute to the corner minute mart, 10 min drive to freeway, Safeway and Target, downtown Longview or I-5. 1 1/12 hour drive to Mt St Helens visitor center. 45 minutes to Portland airport. 1 1/2 hr to the coast. 2 1/2 hrs to Seattle. We are in the Three Rivers area, so there are many options for fishing, hiking and water sports. Off street parking. Private entrance. Boat or RV parking (no hookups) This is an apartment in our daylight basement with a private entrance. You’ll have your own kitchen area with sink, microwave, Kourig, stove and fridge. Dishes, pots and pans, utensils, coffee, tea and some condiments are provided. The bedroom has a king bed with an adjoining bath. The family room has a large couch with a sofa bed, Direct TV and wifi. It is an older home but comfy and clean and you'll have everything you need. We live on a hill overlooking the Cowlitz River. There is access to the river a couple of blocks from the house. Smelt fishing is very popular here when they are running once a year, as well as the salmon and steelhead. You can put your boat in there and park for free while you fish. Free off street parking, room for 2 vehicles or boat trailer. Private entrance with pin pad. .Fenced back yard, covered patio with gas grill, table and chairs. Social interaction is not required or expected but you might see us out and about. We live on a cul-de-sac in a quiet, friendly neighborhood, close to shopping, downtown and the freeway. There is no public transportation nearby. This is an older home and we live above the unit. Therefore, there is potential for noise. We try to be as quiet as possible from 11pm to 7am. However our tv is above the guest living room area so it can be heard. There is a train that goes by in the night that sounds a horn several times. So, full disclosure: light sleepers be advised. Earplugs provided. PLEASE NOTE: the pathway from the parking area to the unit winds down through our garden area. there is a slightly inclined driveway, 2 steps, stepping stones, concrete. and slightly inclined driveway. (PLEASE LOOK AT PICTURES) It could be challenging at night, with rolling luggage or for someone with limited mobility. Motion lights do come on to light the area. We happily answer any questions about the access and can provide an alternative entry (with stairs) in inclement weather if necessary. We have a small, very friendly dog who sometimes uses the back yard so you might see him from time to time. We avoid that area while you're here, but we might be seen there cleaning up after or supervising him. He's usually quiet, but you could hear him bark briefly or running around above the unit playing during the day. We try to keep him quiet at night.
