Cabin in Dunsmuir

Walk to the Sacramento River! Enjoy the local waterfalls, taking day trips to the surrounding towns, try a few local eateries and head back to refuge at our Shasta Retreat Cabin. The space Located in historic Shasta Retreat, Dunsmuir CA. This property features one cabin in the front with two full bathrooms and a sleeping cabin in the back. ***Please note...we are having repairs done to the sleeping cabin, so the sleeping cabin isn’t available at this time. MAIN CABIN: •Sleeps two ideally, •Open floor-plan with nice size deck off the front door. •Wonderful King size bed with plenty of pillows. •TV: there’s a smart tv in the living room for you to sign into your Netflix account, YouTube, Hulu and other apps. There is NO cable or local tv lineup. •Kitchen has a slab granite counter, a microwave/ toaster, fridge/ freezer and coffee maker. There is the necessary pots and pans, dishes and glassware. The kitchen is also stocked with some seasonings and a selection of teas. •There are two bathrooms, one is tiled and features a walk-in shower, washer and dryer. The other bathroom has a bathtub/shower. Hairdryer. •Ironing board and iron. •On the deck there is a table and chairs. In the back there is a picnic table. SLEEPING CABIN: (Currently not available)…see above) When the sleeping cabin is available… •Keep in mind. ACCESS TO SLEEPING CABIN IS AVAILABLE ONLY IF RENTED FOR 3-4 PEOPLE Parties of two may have access to the sleeping cabin for an additional charge. The sleeping cabin is just a room only. There’s no bathroom and is a separate building from the main cabin. •Queen bed in the sleeping cabin •Bamboo flooring and vaulted wood ceiling. •Huge picture window that looks up into the wilderness •This sleeping cabin does not have air conditioning. •Thermal drapes were installed on 2 of the large windows to block out morning sun and one of the other windows has been left uncovered to give that “sleeping-in-a-treehouse” ambience. Don’t worry, it’s very private! •the WiFi signal in the little sleeping cabin may be weak because of its distance from the main cabin. This property is just steps away from the Sacramento River and a short hike to Mossbrae Falls. (currently it is trespassing to walk along the railroad to Mossbrae Falls, so proceed at your own risk). Some of the other recreations activities include fly fishing, hiking, biking, golfing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, sledding, skiing, snowboarding, climbing, snowmobiling... The Shasta Retreat Cabin is the perfect destination for a ski vacation, ultimate fishing trip, couples getaway or private retreat. Shasta Retreat Cabin is located several hundred feet from the railroad tracks, so train noise be heard. Also, Interstate 5 noise can be faintly noticed. There's no telephone, so be sure you have a cellular phone! Guest access We’re having repairs done to the tiny sleeping cabin in the back, so it’s not available at this time. However guests have full access to the main house. Other things to note We are by a train. The town is located in the historic train town of Dunsmuir, so protential train horns could be heard during your stay.
