La Cholla Desert Hideaway
La Cholla Desert Hideaway
Description
Experience the Mojave Desert’s stunning sunsets and arcadian surroundings from this newly remodeled suite. You’re afforded private access to a comfortable room where you can kick back and enjoy the high desert environment. Mornings frequently include visits from a couple of local roadrunners, cooing doves, songbirds, antelope squirrels, a goodly number of cottontails, and an occasional jackrabbit. This suite is comfortably appointed with a queen bed, an optional fold-single bed and a desk/stool. The space The room picture window frames the distant city lights of Kingman; on a moon-bright night one can see the silhouette of Mount Hualapai. Seasonally, and on a clear night, you can easily see Orion, Taurus, The Pleiades, Aldebaran, the Orion Nebula, Betelgeuse the red giant star, Saturn, and other planets. The sunrise color is breathtaking. The color begins early and continues through the sunrise. The early color is the best. Guest access The room is set up and billed for up to two guests, with a queen-size bed. For an additional $25, billed through AirBnb, a third party can be added, whereas a roll-away-folding bed (with linens) will be provided. It makes the space a little tight but works. In addition to the room, there are areas to walk, and a back yard open to guests, to watch the nighttime city lights, stargazing, and the breathtaking sunrises. Other things to note The room is set up and billed for up to two guests, with a queen-size bed. WiFi is now included! Again, take note that the cholla cactus seeds are present in most of the desert, so please take your shoes off at the door lest they get in the carpet—we do check after every guest, but they can be surprisingly difficult to find until you step on one—ouch! Please help us maintain the desert-fresh smell by not bringing strong fragrances or odors into The Hideaway.
