Cozy studio at historic letterpress print shop.
Description
NON-SMOKING GUESTS ONLY. This comfortable, rustic/modern tiny house in the woods is adjacent to an historic letterpress print shop tucked away in an old Olympia neighborhood. Just a ten minutes' walk to downtown Olympia, the 240 sq. ft. studio features heated floors, a small but functional kitchen and bathroom, quality bed, high ceilings and lots of natural light. It offers a peaceful and private retreat among towering trees overlooking Capitol Lake and the southern tip of the Salish Sea. The space The small building is a one-room studio with added-on bathroom. The french doors open into a tiny kitchen/dining area in front and the back half of the space is a bedroom with queen bed. The floor and two walls are concrete, the floor is heated, and the rest of the building is sheathed in plywood. The front half of the space has high ceilings and the back half has a loft, closed to guests. Please review our amenities and house rules before booking! The space is small and might be missing some things you expect like a couch or dressers. Parking is ON THE STREET and you must walk up a steep driveway to access the studio. (Folks with mobility issues may request access to off-street parking.) If you like to avoid things like spiders, fir needles, crows, roaming deer and other foresty things, you might prefer a different place to stay. And though we are located in a dense stand of woods we are essentially overlooking Olympia's downtown. As you might expect, outside the studio one can hear cars, construction, train whistles and other city sounds. Guest access Guests have the guest studio all to themselves and are also free to visit the press when open and use the outdoor seating area overlooking the lake. Other things to note PLEASE CAREFULLY REVIEW OUR ENTIRE LISTING AND DETERMINE IF OUR SPACE IS RIGHT ROR YOU! Absolutely NO smoking, vaping or drugs of any kind on the premises. On-street parking only (folks with mobility issues may request off-street parking) Night shift workers: The studio has windows that do not have curtains or shades. The studio cannot be made dark during the daytime. Small water heater No couch or dresser No microwave (nice toaster oven) The studio is NOT free from wildlife staring through windows, fir needles on shoes, rain, or the ordinary pain of existence ABOUT US The press was founded by a brilliant, kind and generous queer woman in 1940. Today the press is still woman-owned, and continues to be a local bastion of liberalism, LGBTQ+ positivity and unapologetic feminism. We are science forward, evidence reliant, and our political philosophy runs away from deregulated Capitalism toward Scandinavian-style Democratic Socialism. We thought you might like to know where you might be spending your money.
