Ten minutes from kayaking Lake Crescent. The Elwha Place: Apartment has an open concept living/dining and kitchen area with lots of natural light from the two bay windows and sliding glass doors. The stylish living space has a comfy leather couch and chairs, TV, gas fireplace and bay window seating, the perfect space for curling up with a good book! The fully equipped kitchen has all you need for preparing meals complete with a stove/oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, coffee pot and plenty of dishes/pots & pans. Enjoy your meals either inside at the dining table or outside on the deck overlooking the babbling Indian Creek. The Master bedroom has a queen bed, chair, TV, closet and dresser. The one and ONLY bathroom with large walk-in shower can only be accessed from INSIDE the Master bedroom. The second bedroom is located across the hall and also has a queen size bed, a reading chair, and a small TV. The laundry is located at the entrance of the apartment in the foyer area, and includes a stacked washer and dryer that are free for you to use during your stay. The deck overlooking the creek is a lovely spot to hang out enjoy the sounds of nature. The newly built deck (April 2023) features an outdoor entertainment set with a propane fire table and a propane grill. Outside, you can explore the many shared community spaces including private trails that lead down to the creek, a gazebo seating area, an outdoor fire pit down by the creek and a play set for our youngest guests (located in the front yard of the main home). Don't forget to bring your binoculars and camera to enjoy the many local birds and occasional deer. You will have the entire apartment to yourself. Please note that the one and only bathroom can only be accessed from inside the Master bedroom, which means you will want to make sure you are comfortable with this set up BEFORE booking. This property has three vacation rental units. The circular driveway has designated parking spots for each unit. The Elwha Place apartment has a single designated parking spot located just to the left of the front door entrance. The front private entrance is marked with a green sign "Elwha Place" and a ramp leads to the front door. We live in town and are available if needed through the Airbnb app. This property is located set back off U.S. Highway 101 just 8 miles west of Port Angeles for restaurants, coffee houses, pubs, and shopping. The closest entrance to the Olympic National Park is at Lake Crescent, just 10 minutes west of this property, where you will find kayaking on the Lake and hiking opportunities on the Spruce Railroad trail and Marymere Falls, as well as a wonderful restaurant at the historic Lake Crescent Lodge. Additional day trips to other Olympic National Park destinations are an easy drive from the home. Both Hurricane Ridge and Sol Duc Hot Springs/Falls are a 45 minute drive from the home, the Hoh Rain Forest is 1.75 hours away and the Pacific coastal beaches are just over an hour drive to the west. The town of Sequim, with more restaurants, shopping, coffee houses and Lavender Farms is just a 30 minute drive to the east. Hide You will need a car to navigate all areas of this part of the Olympic Peninsula. The property is a 2.5-3 hour drive from Sea-Tac International airport. Designated free parking is located at the property. Please note this apartment has one shared wall with the main house. The door leading to the laundry area of main house located next to kitchen is locked by the owner for security and neither guest in the apartment or the main house can open this door. There is a potential for noise from guests in the main house, but fairly uncommon. All outdoor areas including the yards, private trails to the creek, play structure, fire pits, and gazebo seating area are shared with other guests. Burn Bans are in effect during the summer months (July 1st to October 1st) and can occur during other dry months. The use of outdoor fire pits may be affected if conditions are too dry. It is your responsibility to check to see if a burn ban is in place before starting a fire. Wood bundles can be purchased at the Lower Elwha Food and Fuel. We also have an outdoor propane fire table on the deck available that you will still be able to use if there is a fire ban on outdoor burning.
