Private trails lead to the creek & an outdoor firepit. Great location for hiking, kayaking & exploring the ONP. Lake Crescent is just 10 minutes from the home. The space The Elwha Place: Stylish, open concept living space with lots of natural light from the two bay windows and sliding glass doors. The beautifully designed space boasts a comfy leather couch and chairs, a TV, cozy gas fireplace and open bay window seating, the perfect space for curling up with a good book! The fully equipped kitchen has all you need for preparing meals complete with a gas stove/oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, coffee pot and plenty of dishes/pots & pans. Enjoy your meals either inside at the dining table or outside on the deck overlooking the babbling Indian Creek. The primary bedroom has a queen bed, a chair, a TV, large closet and dresser. The one and ONLY bathroom with large walk-in shower can only be accessed from INSIDE the primary bedroom. (Please make sure you are comfortable with this arrangement BEFORE booking). The second bedroom is located across the hall and also has a queen size bed, a reading chair, and a small TV. The laundry is located at the entrance of the apartment in the foyer area, and includes a stacked washer and dryer that are free for you to use during your stay. The deck overlooking the creek is a lovely spot to hang out enjoy the sounds and peacefulness of nature. The newly built deck features an outdoor entertainment set with a propane fire table and a propane grill. Outside, you can explore the many shared community spaces including private trails that lead down to the creek, a gazebo seating area, and an outdoor fire pit down by the creek. Don't forget to bring your binoculars and camera to enjoy the many local birds and occasional deer. We do require all children under 12 to be accompanied by an adult when outside due to the naturally occurring hazards. Please note that the one and only bathroom can only be accessed from INSIDE the Master bedroom, which means you will want to make sure you are comfortable with this set up BEFORE booking. This property has two vacation rental units. The circular driveway has designated parking spots for each unit. The Elwha Place apartment has a single designated parking spot located just to the left of the front door entrance. The front private entrance is marked with a green sign "Elwha Place" and a ramp leads to the front door. Other things to note Please note this apartment has one shared wall with the main house. The door between the units is located next to the kitchen & is locked by the owner for security, so neither the guest in the apartment or the main house can open this door. There is a potential for noise from guests in the main house, but fairly uncommon. All outdoor areas including the yards, private trails to the creek, fire pits, and gazebo seating area are shared with other guests. Burn Bans are in effect during the summer months (July 1st to October 1st) and can occur during other dry months. The use of outdoor fire pits may be affected if conditions are too dry. It is your responsibility to check to see if a burn ban is in place before starting a fire. Wood bundles can be purchased at the Lower Elwha Food and Fuel. We also have an outdoor propane fire table on the deck available that you will still be able to use if there is a fire ban on outdoor burning.
