This home is steps to the Mississippi River, park your boat on the beach. Room for an air mattress. Excellent fishing off the property. Breath taking views, a bit of Heaven. The bike trail is one-half block away plus Ice fishing in Spring Lake, Chestnut Mountain has a zip line, alpine slide, downhill . Boat launch 1 mile, restaurant is walk able distance. Golf 4 miles, Savanna 8 mi, Thomson 4 mi, Fulton 8 mi, Clinton IA 10 miles. Both interior and exterior multiple steps into the home. The space is an open floor plan. It was once an earth home with a mowed roof. As a result, you feel like you are directly on the river just looking out the window. The entire front of the home is floor to ceiling glass (with blinds). You enter through the garage. This house is strictly an Airbnb. The house is yours, quiet and private as available. My husband and I live 2 miles down the river. We can usually get to the home quickly if there is any problems just call. The neighborhood is very friendly. Ask any neighbor for directions or suggestions for dinner, fishing or otherwise. You will have privacy. The Mississippi Pool 13 is a wildlife refuge. It is easily located on map as the widest point shore to shore, 5 miles. Take a trip to a lock and dam to witness lock traffic and bird watch. The first weekend of January is Eagle watch weekend with lots of activities outside. Anytime the back waters freeze you will see Eagles from the home and as many as hundreds at the lock and dam. Of course, ice fishing is prime. The bike path is connected by Riverview road to off road path in both directions. Closest restaurant can be seen from the house. This is a federal nature refuge please treat it as such, keeping debris from the beach and water. Savanna was voted 2021 small town by USA Today. Palisades park for hiking, bike path will take you directly into town. Marina, food, museum, shopping. Fulton has a Cultural Center and village plus a large windmill on the bike path. Good dining in Mt Carroll and Clinton Iowa. Most beautiful sunsets nightly. There are local guide books in the home. You can walk to the bike path, a great bar restaurant and park your boat on the beach. Small draft boat launch is 2 miles up river (daily launch fee) and large boat either Savanna or Sabula Marinas. We are on the back waters with river access. You can usually follow boats in and out of the cut. Do not try without guidance, there are stumps and shallows areas. Boats should be shallow water to use the cut. Larger boats can rent a slip in Savanna Marina. Sabula has a fun river bar - Home Port and an ice cream parlor. This is a quiet area please be respectful and the first step out the door is the federal preserve. While the DNR usually do not bother the landowners they will check for fishing license and fine for other issues. Property parking is unlimited. We are ok with parking in the grass as needed. Please note that there are steps leading into the home 12-14 depending on interior or exterior entry. It is not handicap accessible. There is a small Weber grill, outside chairs.
