Peaceful Forest Studio
Private studio with sauna set in the lush woods of southeastern VT. Walk out your door and onto the best hiking and biking trails in the area. Family friendly. All are welcome. We are a family with two children inhabiting the house above the studio. The house is quiet from around 8 pm to around 7 am, and then the sounds of daily life can be expected. You will hear us living life above you. The newest addition to our family is our 2 year old border collie-mix-rescue dog named "Peppa". You have complete and private access to the entire studio, including the sauna. In addition, you have access to the fire ring (we'll even get it started for you!) and the yard (including picnic table, outdoor seating, trails, and childrens' play equipment). We are happy to help you with your needs and offer suggestions to make the most of your visit. Walk, hike, run, bike, or ski right from your private door. Our house backs up against vast protected forest and well-maintained, extensive trails. This is a perfect spot to immerse in nature, unwind, and enjoy the peace, quiet, and a slower pace of being. This is a wonderful place to play: for kids and pets to thrive in exploring the woods, and for adults to relax and rejuvenate. Our space is nestled atop a quiet, cool hill in the Vermont woods. Enjoy year-round nature and exploration from your door, or venture out into the many surrounding towns and destinations. Situated 2 miles from the center of quaint Westminster West, we're in quintessential Vermont, and neighbored by maple sugar operations, renowned artisan cheese makers, and talented artists. In the summer, enjoy the cool of our hilltop forest and the quiet of our gardens and woods. In the fall soak in the phenomenal fall colors, and in the winter snowshoe from your door, ski on local groomed nordic trails, or head to a number of popular VT downhill or nordic ski areas. Beauty and recreation abound any time of year! You will need a car to get to and from our house. In the winter and spring, you'll need a 4x4 vehicle. We are: 10 minutes to Saxtons River (home to Vermont Academy); 15 minutes to Putney (home to The Putney Craft Tour; The Putney School, Landmark College, & Greenwood School) 30 minutes to Brattleboro (home of SIT/World Learning Graduate School) 20 minutes to Grafton, Chester & Walpole, NH 45 minutes to Keene, NH (home to Keene State College) 1 hour to Northampton/Amherst, MA 2+ hours from Boston, New Haven/Hartford, Albany & Burlington Easy day trips from here include the Montshire Museum of Science, Mass MOCA, King Arthur Flour flagship campus and cafe, Stratton Mountain, Mt. Snow & Okemo Mountain, and more! Nearby you'll find covered bridges, farmers markets, college towns and museums, thrift stores, antiques...and so much more! **WINTER & EARLY SPRING RESERVATIONS** If you are hoping to visit from November-April, you will need an All-Wheel Drive, 4x4, or snow tires on a FWD vehicle. This is all weather dependent, of course. The roads to our house and our driveway are steep. Inclement weather (including mud in "mud season") might result in needing to park at the bottom of our driveway. Our road and driveway are always plowed and sanded, but not until after a storm has passed. Happy to discuss this more as needed.
