The on site leisure club to which you receive complimentary access has a heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and gym. 10% off all spa treatments too. Fabulous quality dining and drinks can be enjoyed at the on-site at the Gamekeepers Inn or the Woodland Cafe. All a short stroll from Wharfe Lodge! The space Wharfe Lodge makes a welcome retreat for guests looking for a relaxing get-away-from-it-all in Wharfedale in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park. This Scandinavian style timber lodge is situated in a quiet peaceful setting with a wonderful opportunity to feel at one with nature and a plethora of local wildlife; pheasants, rabbits, numerous friendly garden birds and deer roaming around on a daily basis. The Scandinavian timber property is cosy and well equipped. Complete with double glazing, central heating throughout and an electric wood-effect burner in the lounge for the Winter months it makes it makes an ideal base to snuggle down into. There is an alfresco dining area for those long summer nights out on the verandah out onto Cracoe Fell in the distance. Inside the property there is everything you should need for an enjoyable stay; the kitchen is very well equipped as a home away-from-home with equipment and utensils for your self catering convenience. Furthermore it also comprises a full sized fridge/freezer, washer/drier, microwave in addition to the induction hob & main oven/grill in the kitchen. The bathroom has a powerful shower over the bath and the bedrooms are set up as one with a new standard double with a comfy Hypnos pocket sprung mattress and a separate bedroom comprising a triple bunk (comprising standard double bed with standard single top bunk atop suitable for a child/teenager up to 60kg, as and when required) with the finest 100% cotton duvet sets and silky high spec Egyptian cotton sheets provided. For your further convenience we provide you with a set of soft fluffy luxury hand and bath towels so you don't need to weigh down travel bags when packing to come away. We are glad to be able to offer you a complimentary fast speed WIFI service and a Smart Full HD TV where you can login to the accounts of your streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney etc or family members can use the TV's gaming mode if they choose to bring gaming devices. We provide a selection of board games and DVD's for your family to enjoy too as well as binoculars for wildlife spotting and of course the location has received international recognition for its unpolluted night skies being formally recognised as a Dark Sky reserve so check out the stunning Milky Way, planets and even on occasion the Northern Lights !. The stunning Leisure Club/Pure Spa is operated independently of our Air B&B property listing (by the on-site park management) and thus prices for the Pure Spa treatments are not included in our published holiday rental rates but can be found on the main Long Ashes Park website. See the photo gallery to see for yourself how stunning this facility is ! As guests of Wharfe Lodge you will have full complimentary access to the whole leisure club including the pool areas, jacuzzi, steam and sauna rooms gym. In addition, our guests receive 10% off the personal spa treatment prices but you should book in advance of your stay to avoid dissapointment as the services are very popular and it’s only a small setup with 2 therapists daily. Should you wish to enquire further about these services please contact Long Ashes Park Pure Spa directly for their current price list. The local food shops are now relocated in a purpose built complex in keeping with the Dales stone, 2 minutes drive from Long Ashes Park with a mix of Spar supermarket and local producers and petrol station (though the place can be reached on foot along the footpath that runs behind the park and the Caravan club). The heart of Grassington village and the filming location for the fictional Darrowby village from the 'All Creatures Great and Small' series is less than 2 miles from the lodge. With its pretty cobbled square, street lined cafe's, quaint gift shops and the Tourist Information in a car its only a 5 minute drive away or a half hour walk across the fields or country roads if you are feeling like immersing yourselves in the wonderful local countryside. Aside from numerous trailheads for local trekking suggested other local highlights in the area are (but are not limited to): Stump Cross Caverns - recently one top UK awards for best small attraction, great cafe too Kilnsey Trout Farm - great for the kids to catch their own fish with no prior experience and a furry animal enclosure and lovely cafe/restaurant Billy Bob' Parlour Aysgarth Falls Hardraw Force Percival Hall - stunning gardens Bronte Parsonage (Haworth) Annual festivals include: Skipton Waterway Festival (May) Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival (August) - Not one to miss !! Kilnsey Show (September) Grassington Christmas Street market (December weekends, normally first 2, check local press for details) Guest access The whole lodge is yours, dine alfresco for breakfast lunch and dinner on the secluded extended verandah and tuck up cosy inside on cooler nights in front of a movie on Netflix. Dedicated parking at the lodge is for up to 2 cars behind the lodge. Other things to note We will send you a welcome pre-arrival letter a short period ahead of your arrival with useful information regarding your stay. If you wish to use the on-site Pure Spa facility, we recommend you book your treatments well ahead of your stay by contacting Long Ashes Park directly. Similarly to avoid disappointment in availability especially on weekends in peak season its best to book a table at The Gamekeepers Inn a good couple of weeks ahead in peak season.
