The Rafters is a finished studio space above our late 1800s barn. It has beautiful light and feels like a getaway as soon as you open the door. With the proximity to Portsmouth, NH and local attractions in Maine, you can escape to the Rafters, but with the ease of being so close to everything. Our neighborhood is beautiful and you can walk down to many spots that overlook the Piscataqua River. Or Uber home from a fun night in Portsmouth! The Rafters is modern but sits above a lot of history. The bed is a luxury firm mattress, and there is a lot of character in the space. From the lobster pot coffee table to the skylights, this space is cozy and unique. The Rafters is the only space for guest access. We have a backyard that is for the dog and our family. No smoking, vaping, or marijuana inside of the Rafters. We are available and would be happy to offer up suggestions. We love hosting and meeting new people, but with the separate space, we want you to feel like it’s yours. Our neighborhood is amazing! So many nice people and historic homes and we are a short walk down to the Piscataqua River. We are biking distance to Portsmouth and Kittery. You feel like you are further away than you actually are. We love to surf and kayak and be on the water, there are so many activities in our area. Driving is the best option and there is parking everywhere, but if you have a bike with you, you’ll easily be able to bike to various points. If you plan on going big on the town there are taxi or Uber options available in Portsmouth. It is a shared driveway. If you have two cars, please park two deep adjacent to the barn. It is ok to be on the grass. Thanks!
