Description

Looking for a quiet, cozy stay in a luxurious yurt? Well, then look no further than the Rainbow Ranch! We are located fifteen miles from Bend and a ten minute drive from Sisters. Whether you're seeking a place to land after an adventurous day or looking for a unique spot to unwind, you’re sure to cherish your time here. Enjoy views of the Sisters and Broken Top from the property by day. Then, snap a few photos of the glorious sunset, sit back, and watch as the stars light up the night sky. The space It’s a yurt! So get ready to soak up the novelty of this Mongolian tradition and start brainstorming the potential for your social media photos now! The yurt at Rainbow Ranch offers a balance between style and solitude. A gated entry and private driveway ensure your privacy. The pond invites peace and tranquility in every season. And, if the views aren’t enough, the bird chatter will make your spirits soar. You’ll be sharing the property with dogs, cats, goats, chickens, and honeybees! Come enjoy these special amenities at the Rainbow Ranch! Indoors, a pellet stove will keep your toes toasty when the temperature drops. In the summer, you can raise the roof and detach the windows to keep cool. The kitchen includes dishes, utensils, hot plate, cookware, microwave, and a refrigerator. Spices and specialty items available upon request from my kitchen. The queen size bed comfortably fits two and the oversized red arm chair opens up into a twin bed. Table set up for three but an option for four exists. A dresser is available to suit long term guests. Guest access The yurt is located on a ten acre property with a long driveway. I live in the main house on the other side of the pond, which is a short walk away. Another yurt is located behind yours, but it is currently used for storage. Feel free to wander around the property and soak up the Central Oregon scenery. I’m excited to meet my guests and am happy to answer any questions you have about the yurt, the property, or the surrounding area. And, if you are curious about straw bale homes (the construction style of the main house), please ask. Other things to note The yurt has cement flooring so I’d advise you to bring slippers for maximum comfort. If you’re a bathrobe person, you might want to pack that, too. There are four friendly dogs who live in the property, and they love saying hello to guests. If you are afraid of dogs—even nice ones— yplease let me know ahead of your arrival. Hank, Nico, Alice, and Jonah are lovers, but we understand not all people appreciate canine company. Just please understand they do need their outside time and can't be locked up inside all day. At this time, we are unable to accommodate additional pets. There are three bee hives on the property. Though they are not located near the yurt, the bees forage throughout the property and like to drink from the pond. For this reason, I don’t recommend that you walk around barefoot. The possibility of seeing spiders inside the yurt exists and, given the rural surroundings, note there are snakes and other critters around the property. You may hear coyotes at night but they stay away from humans. In spring time (April/May), chorus frogs who inhabit the pond are courting mates and they are not shy about it. They are a seasonal delight but light sleepers may want to bring earplugs (though the is a supply in the medicine cabinet. In July 2021, we brought home four baby goats who would enjoy a visit if you are so inclined! There are two Nubians (with long ears) named Cleo and Lucy. The others two, Violet and Honey, are Nigerian dwarfs. Contrary to the word on the streets, goats do not eat anything so please ask if you’d like to feed them (I have cookies and peanuts for this purpose). It probably goes without saying but various chores need to happen around the ranch. I do my best to work when guests are out exploring but mowing, watering, and other tasks may be happening outside the yurt during your visit. Also, before booking, please note the strict cancellation policy, which applies to illness, travel hiccups, weather, and wildfire smoke. We are located in Central Oregon, which sometimes experiences storms in the winter and smoke from wildfires in the summer. Mother Nature is part of what makes this area so wonderful, but it can also interrupt our best laid plans. At this time, no refunds will be made because of inclement weather, illness (including COVID), or other travel related delays unless granted by Airbnb. In the event that a cancellation becomes necessary, I’ll do my best to work with you and re-open the reservation immediately in the hopes that it will get rebooked. If it is, I’ll gladly return the payment I’ve received. If you are concerned, you might consider travel insurance. Thank you for understanding.
