During your stay you may see: • Horses grazing in nearby pastures • Deer and other local wildlife • Beautiful Texas sunsets • Our friendly ranch dogs roaming the property Many guests say their favorite part of staying here is simply sitting on the porch watching the horses and sunsets. Guests enjoy: • The entire private cottage • Front and back porches • Approximately two acres surrounding the cottage to explore and enjoy It’s the perfect place to sip coffee in the morning, read a book in the afternoon, or relax under the wide Texas sky in the evening. Next door to the cottage is our Retreat House, a gathering space used for retreats, workshops, and small events. It is not used for overnight accommodations, but cottage guests are welcome to quietly enjoy the space for personal reflection when it is not reserved for events. Please note it cannot be used for gatherings or entertaining without a rental agreement. Our ranch is also home to Rescue Rio, our equine rescue and our equine-assisted learning program. We currently provide sanctuary for 29 horses, many of whom were rescued and now live out their lives peacefully here or participate in therapy and rehabilitation programs. The horse barn is about 240 yards from the cottage, so while you may occasionally see staff or volunteers caring for the horses during the day, the cottage area remains peaceful and private. Guests are always welcome to come meet the horses and learn about the work we do. Your stay helps support the mission of Rescue Rio and the horses who call this ranch home. 🐎 Other things to note Other things to note Tyson’s Corners is a peaceful working ranch and equine rescue. While we keep the cottage clean and comfortable, this is still country living — which means you may occasionally see wildlife, insects, dust, or hear animals around the property. For many guests, that’s part of the charm of ranch life. Our horses live nearby in pasture and may occasionally come visit the fence. Guests are welcome to admire them, but for safety we ask that guests do not enter the pastures. Our friendly ranch dogs also roam the property and may stop by to say hello. We want every guest to enjoy the quiet beauty of the ranch while respecting the animals, the land, and the peaceful environment we share here. **** Notes for our Doggie Guests **** We are a dog-friendly ranch, and have several friendly ranch dogs who live on the property and may stop by to say hello during your stay. We have Charlie who is a German Shepherd, a Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd cross (Holly), a Great Dane (Pearl) and a chocolate Lab (Bailey). Guests are welcome to bring their own dogs! Since this is a working ranch with horses and other animals, we simply ask that visiting dogs: • Remain on leash while walking the property • Be crated if left alone inside the cottage Please note the cottage yard is not fenced. Our ranch dogs are well-socialized and used to meeting new people (and sometimes new dogs), and they tend to be part of the charm of staying here.
