Description
Whether you are escaping from the city for some small town R & R, or want the peace of the quiet countryside and horse farm, we have it all. Our retreat center sits back from the main road just on the Lampasas city line. It is quiet and serene, and can lend itself to finding that slow-down button we all need among the fast paced lifestyles we lead. The space So close to town, yet far enough to find quiet, our Tyson's Corners Retreat Center lends itself to your need for rest and retreat. It is 35 acres of serenity filled with wildlife, friendly horses, sweet dogs to connect with, and porches to relax on. The Retreat Cottage is a clean and beautiful space equipped with ample amenities to make your stay relaxing and comfortable! Next door and attached to the cottage, is our Retreat House. It does not have overnight accommodations but is a space designed for people to gather together to fellowship, celebrate, and connect. It is also a wonderful space for a personal retreat which we also offer it to be used for. If you would like to use the space for some quiet alone time please feel free to do so while you stay at the cottage. We do ask that you do not let your children play in there, or use it as a gathering space for entertaining as that entails a rental contract with us. Guest access Guests at the cottage have access to the entire cottage, front and back porches and the 2 acres surrounding it. We, the owners, live on the property as well. Our home is far enough from the cottage that you have your privacy, but close enough if you need anything. The horse pasture is close to the cottage and our friendly horses love to come visit at the fence with you. Our property is also home to Rescue Rio, our equine rescue, as well as an equine assisted therapy program. We give sanctuary to 29 horses. Some of which are rescue horses that have retired here, are in our rehabilitation program or working in our therapy programs. You will see people coming in and out to care for the horses and attend therapy sessions, but all of that takes place down at the horse barn which is 240 yards (219 meters) away from the cottage. We always welcome our guests to come on down and get to know us, our horses and learn about our programs! Our Airbnb guests’ reservations are a huge support to these programs and we love to share about the work we do to help out these beautiful horses in need! For more info on the rescue check out Rescue Rio on IG or FB! Other things to note **** Notes for our Doggie Guests **** We are a dog friendly ranch, and have a pack of 5 that live with us. They include a German Shepherd (Charlie), a Brittany Spaniel (Bingham), a Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd cross (Holly), a Great Dane (Pearl) and a chocolate Lab (Bailey),. Our dogs freely roam our ranch and even work as ranch and retreat dogs who offer affection and play to whomever might need it! They do like to visit our cottage guests and will be social with your dog if you bring one. They are well socialized and enjoy meeting new playmates. If you have any questions about our pack please don't hesitate to ask. If you do bring your dog we ask that you keep it on a leash during walking times, and in its own crate if it is to be left alone in the cottage for any amount of time. The cottage does not have a fenced in yard for your dog to roam free and unsupervised. And there are portions of the ranch that have barbed wired fencing that dogs can easily get through.
