There is no lack of a flat screen TV, as well as a Wi-Fi connection. The living room is oriented towards the harbor, the kitchen leaves nothing to be desired. The shore is about 20m from the terrace. No pets in this apartment. (Surroundings:) Oostmahorn is a fortified place from the early 16th century with an extensive history on the Lauwerszee at the time. Today it is an attractive tourist destination on the edge of the Lauwersmeer National Park and has two holiday parks. The lake and its immediate surroundings are a paradise for nature lovers, fishermen, water sports enthusiasts, hikers and cyclists. Dog lovers and their four-legged friends will also get their money's worth here. Lauwersoog, for example, has a dog beach and you are welcome, among other things, in the ballast plate forest. Within a few hundred meters from the chalet there are various play opportunities for the children, including a climbing frame on the beach, a playing field in the De Skâns holiday park, and a playground with a bouncy cushion in Esonstad, which is located behind the beach. In the old Frisian-style fortress city, there is also an indoor play paradise accessible for much of the year, and you can play a round of golf or foot golf at the pitch & putt. A bike or e-chopper can also be rented here. For your daily shopping (a large supermarket is a few kilometers away in Anjum) you can also go to the local supermarket in Esonstad. Other facilities include a restaurant, a pizzeria and a snack bar. Even closer to the chalet - in the marina and on the dyke - there are also 3 excellent restaurants with stunning views over the Lauwersmeer. Culinary you are in the right place at this former Wadden Sea estuary. In the harbor of Lauwersoog you will find a variety of seafood restaurants and also the former seaport Zoutkamp on the other side of the Lauwersmeer offers a large selection of restaurants. Finally, a visit to the historic and picturesque Dokkum with its fortresses, shops and terraces is also highly recommended. To discover the national park from the water, you can of course bring your own boat, but just around the corner from the chalet you can also rent various sloop, sailboats or canoes at Pavilion La Barca. A round trip, a trip to Dokkum or a bird watching trip on the former cargo ship Vlinderbalg are also possible, and a ferry to Schiermonnikoog leaves here several times a week. From Lauwersoog, you can participate in seals and mudflats and, depending on the tide, enjoy the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site on the dry Engelsmanplaat. The Lauwersmeer is popular with fish lovers. There are a lot of roe and roe-eye swimming here, but you can also fish for zander and perch. At the reception of Holland1 you can buy a fishing license. Do you like to go for a walk and relax? For example, visit the fishing village of Paesens-Moddergat on the Seedeich with its Museum 't Fiskershúske. In addition, you can take various mudflat hikes daily in this authentic Doppeldorf. Or just stay home in and out of your chalet. Don't forget to look up on a cloudless late evening and enjoy the starry sky and the Milky Way. Not for nothing, the Lauwersmeer area (together with the Boschplaat on Terschelling) was declared Dark Sky Park by the International Dark Sky Association.
