Welcome to our quiet retreat, a warm 3 bedroom house with large open plan living area nestled into the bush. It is a short walk to the waterfront, the playground and the main entrance to the Pounawea Bush. Nearby golf course, and horse trekking. Fishing is one of our pastimes in the Ōwaka River. There is a great walk along Surat Bay to False Island and Cannibal Bay, with a chance of seeing sea lions along the way. Ōwaka, 5 minutes away by car, has a small supermarket open seven days until 7pm. There is a very good museum in Ōwaka that is also the tourist information centre. Pounawea is a great base for exploring the Catlins. Special conditions: LINEN We supply tea towels, bath mat, blankets, duvets and pillows. Bring your own bath towels, hand towels, pillowcases and sheets, including king singles for bedroom 3 (double sheets work well).
