Description
Welcome to your Home Away from Home in the Olympic National Park! Blue Jay Nest is the perfect spot when traveling around the Olympic Peninsula. Nestled between some of the worlds largest trees you will soon be making Quinault a regular retreat . Enjoy kayaking, hiking, bird watching, mushroom foraging and everything mother nature has to offer you in this never forgotten vacation. Come follow us on Instagram @QuinaultCove The space We are offering our 450sq. ft. Mother-in-Law Suite for your perfect vacation get away. Our Nest is fully furnished with 2 Queen sized beds, a galley kitchen with a full sized refrigerator and oven/ stove top as well as the usual dishes... including pots and pans in case you decide to stay in for dinner. We leave the second bedroom open for guests. This small bedroom has a queen sized bed, 19” tv, and light stand. We do not allow overnight guests on the living couches. We have had a few reviews claiming the Nest is tight for four adults. We think for one night the Nest, while smaller, would work for an adventuring group but for longer stays we suggest staying in our Canners cottage. Our Nest shares the property with another rental called the Canners Cottage. You may see other guests in the yard or on the beach. Something to note if you're looking for extreme privacy. Early Checkin or Late Checkout: If available we can allow early checking or late checkouts. Please contact us to see if this is available for your party. We do charge an additional $40 per hour for these requests. Although we do not advertise having wifi we do usually have internet access and will provide the information at check in. However because of the location both internet and phone service may be a bit slow or even nonexistent while traveling around the peninsula. We know this can be stressful and advise printing out directions to any highlighted areas in case your GPS is unavailable when you need it. A few years ago we opened our first small business outside of our home. Depending on the season you will be able to find Homemade Jams and Jellies, Fresh Baked Pies, Local Smoked Salmon as well as small souvenirs right outside of your door. If you are celebrating an anniversary, birthday or special occasion and would like a custom dessert for your trip please let me know a week in advance and I would be happy to make your special day an even bigger surprise (usually $25-$35) Guest access Please feel free to use the beach area as well as fire pit in the summer and fall seasons (unfortunately in the spring and winter the lake is usually too high to enjoy the beach access, there may also be issues launching the kayaks in these months). However we do have a chiminea set up by the lake for a fire anytime of the year. We also have two personal kayaks and life jackets that you are welcome to use while staying with us. Other things to note Spend your days wandering the trails located around the lake, heading 35 minutes north up the coast to the Kalaloch beaches or 45 minutes South- West to the Coastal Towns of Ocean Shores (home of Quinault Beach Casino), Pacific Beach (Chocolate Festival), or Seabrook (Farmers Market in the Summer, Kokos Mexican restaurant all year round).
