This is our family home, and it holds a very special place in our hearts. Our kid grew up in this house, and it’s a home we truly treasure. We’re excited to open our doors and share this meaningful space with our guests, hoping you’ll feel the same warmth, comfort, and care that our family has experienced over the years. We offer amenities so families feel truly welcome, while the home is also set up to be comfortable for business travelers and visitors seeking a peaceful stay. STR24-00079 The space Enjoy the gaming area or enjoy the large outdoor deck area in this spacious split-level home about 20 miles outside of Washington D.C. in Rockville Maryland. The home features a dual master bedroom and living room setup, with a master bedroom and living area both upstairs and downstairs for optimal privacy, and Roku televisions in all the bedrooms (will need to login to your accounts). Home also features 500MB high speed Fiber Optic internet connection and desk/office. 4-5 vehicles can park in the double driveway, and plenty of on-street parking as well. Sleeps up to 12 people, with 2 people sleeping per queen- and full-size beds, futon & pull-out couch. Bedroom layout: Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms with 2 queen beds, and a trundle bed in the third bedroom with 2 separate twin beds. Downstairs there are two bedrooms with one queen bed in the master bedroom, and a full-size futon in the office/den. There is a full-sized pull-out sofa in the living area downstairs as well that sleeps 2. The gaming area features a PAC-man arcade, foosball table, board games, and a retro gaming emulator with over 30,000 games. We provide a self-check-in option for your convenience, and we’re always available for any questions or recommendations you may need during your stay. Please note that the garage and shed are not available for guest use. Other things to note Welcome to our family home! We hope you have a wonderful stay. To ensure everyone enjoys their time here, please adhere to the following rules: Respect Our Home and Neighbors: Please be considerate and respectful of our property and the neighboring residents. Guests: No unregistered guests without prior approval. Noise: No parties or loud noise after 10 PM. Our neighbors are sensitive to noise. Substances: No drugs of any kind are allowed. Alcohol is permitted. Smoking: No smoking inside the house. If you smoke outside, please dispose of your butts and ash properly. Washer and Dryer: Use of the washer and dryer is permitted only for stays of one week or more. Pets: Any pet must be approved in writing prior to your stay and should be supervised while outdoors. Only one dog is allowed. Please pick up after your dog outside. Fireplace: The fireplace is a VERY HOT SURFACE. Do not leave children unsupervised near it and turn it off when not in use. Gaming and Board Games: Turn off gaming controllers when not in use. If you use the board games, please return all pieces/cards/dice to their original places. A fee will be charged if games are left disorganized. Security: Always lock the front door and back sliding door with the security bar when leaving. Please be courteous to the neighbors. Floor Safety: There are no carpets in the house. Be cautious of slippery surfaces when wet. Damage and Spills: Report any breaks, spills, or stains as soon as possible. TV Remotes: Do not lose the TV remotes. If any are missing, please inform us so we can replace them for the next guest. Damage or Odors: Any significant damage or unpleasant odors will result in an additional fee. Water Heater Please note that our water heater system requires time to reheat. We kindly recommend keeping showers under 10 minutes. If multiple guests shower back-to-back, there may be a short wait before hot water is fully restored. Heating & Air Conditioning Our home has a centralized heating and air conditioning system, so temperatures may vary slightly throughout the house. During summer, the upper floors tend to be warmer than the lower levels and basement. In winter, the basement may feel cooler than the upper floors. During colder months, the thermostat is set to 70°F, which is already higher than Pepco’s recommended setting. Setting it higher would significantly increase utility costs. For your comfort, we encourage guests—especially those not familiar with the local climate—to dress appropriately for seasonal and room-to-room temperature differences. Trash Pickup: Trash pickup is on Thursdays. If you are staying on Wednesday, please place the trash on the curb to avoid accumulation. As our home is located in a natural setting, you may occasionally see insects such as crickets or other small bugs. During warmer weather, ants may also appear. We do our best to keep the home clean, well maintained, and comfortable, but this is a normal part of the surrounding environment. If you have any concerns or need assistance during your stay, please don’t hesitate to let us know—we’re always happy to help. Our home is not a hotel, but a lived-in family home that we lovingly share with our guests. During your stay, we kindly ask for a couple of small favors to help us care for the house: Trash & recycling: Please bring the bins to the curb on Wednesday evenings for scheduled pickup. Before checkout: When possible, we encourage guests to strip the bed sheets and leave them in the designated area. This is a big help for our cleaning team, especially when we have back-to-back check-ins. These small gestures make a meaningful difference and help us continue offering a comfortable and well-cared-for space. If these requests don’t suit your travel style or convenience, a hotel stay may be a better fit. During snowy conditions, guests are responsible for clearing snow from their designated areas. We will provide a snow shovel for your use. If you prefer to hire professional snow removal, we can assist with arranging the service for an additional fee—just let us know.
