La Tour, charming cottage in the country of Jean Ferrat

Beautiful 40 m2 cottage perched on the heights of Antraigues-sur-Volane, offering breathtaking views of the village of Jean Ferrat. Rated 3* and tastefully renovated, the cottage has a separate entrance and a private shaded terrace. A large swimming pool with 360-degree views of the Volane Valley and the surrounding mountains, a bowling green and a ping-pong table are among its many assets. The space Adjacent to a guest house, the La Tour cottage includes a large, very bright bedroom upstairs, equipped with a 140 x 190 cm bed and two 80 x 200 cm beds that can be combined into a 160 x 200 cm queen size bed, and a shower room with toilet. The room is equipped with a sink and a fan. On the lower floor, overlooking the garden, is the 20 m2 living room with a comfortable sofa bed, another shower room with toilet, and a small fully equipped kitchen. The living room is also equipped with a very quiet fan. In all, the house can accommodate up to 6 people but it is more suitable for a single couple or a family of 4. The 10x5 m pool is shared with the hosts of the adjoining guest house. Linens are provided. The beds are made on arrival. The house has a parking area. There is a petanque court, ping pong table and small barbecue available to guests. A surcharge of €40 will be applied for any additional guests beyond 4, or if an extra set of sheets needs to be provided. Guest access The cottage is located at the top of the village of Antraigues-sur-Volane, just before the retirement home which is very well signposted from the village of Antraigues (EHPAD Les Châtaigniers signs). If you're using GMaps, enter "Là-Haut", Antraigues-sur-Volane in the search bar. Once you arrive in the village of Antraigues, turn left in front of the grocery store and then left twice. The 2nd left turn is a hairpin bend, be careful, it's not very visible from the road. You will then climb a very steep concrete ramp (20%) for about 80 meters. At the top of this hill, turn right (Résidence Retraite sign) then follow the road full of speed bumps (I counted 7!) for 200 meters. The house (stone) is just after a large, fairly tight turn, on the left. A sign says "Là-Haut". The cottage is under the pool, I'll take you there. If you come by the D104 via Privas, the GPS sometimes makes you go through the D122 (Saint-Joseph des Bancs/Saint-Julien du Gua signs) just before arriving at the Col de l'Escrinet. It's a beautiful road but I don't recommend it for people with motion sickness... I advise you to go through Aubenas instead. The duration is the same. Other things to note Many hikes can be done from the house to the Château de Craux, the Coupe d'Aizac volcano, the hamlets of Mas and Mazoyer, Ranc Chabrier, the villages of Bise, Genestelle, Laviolle or Mézilhac on the Ardèche plateau. The house is located on the GR de Pays of the Haute Cévenne d'Ardèche. Several swimming sites are within a 30-minute walk in the Mas, Bise, Volane or Besorgues rivers. A body of water is a 10-minute walk away, at the bottom of the village of Antraigues. The house is 7 km from the spa town of Vals-les-Bains, 14 km from Aubenas and 45 km from Vallon-Pont-d'Arc. There are many remarkable villages to visit nearby. Mont Gerbier de Jonc, the source of the Loire, is 35 minutes away. An equestrian center is 13 km away.
