Private Beach Haven with All of the Comforts
Beachfront and Lakehouse With All of the Comforts!
Description
We couldn’t be more heart warmed, to welcome you to our little piece of Heaven in the World! 21 acres with over 600 feet of private sandy shores on the most spectacular bay of Lake Superior. There’s a Lake House with currently 2 bedrooms to share(Note: 2nd bedroom is in an open loft). Short path and then 12 steps to the beach! There’s an adorable boat house too, that’s where we stay when we are up at the Lake. Beautiful silence, darkness, adventure, and serenity awaits. The space Currently this is a Master Bedroom and Bathroom and a loft (2nd bed is in the loft). The common area is a Great room for Kitchen, Dining, and Living Room. The lake is 75 feet from the house. There are stairs down near the boathouse to the lake or a nice path down behind the boathouse to the lake. The last bit to the beach is 12 stairs down. One of the reasons we fell in love with this property is that I could instantly see my future grandchildren with water wings, toddling on this beach. Because it’s a protected Bay, the shores are gentle when there’s not a big storm. Zero depth, gradual grade into the water, means kids of all ages and swim ability can play nicely on these shores. We love dogs! We have a Briard ourselves! Your pup(s) will love the place! We charge a fee of $90/dog/trip. So stay 3 days it’s $90 for that dog. Stay 2 days, it’s $90 for that dog. Stay 3 days with 4 dogs, it's $360 for the 4 dogs. Thank you! WINTER INFO:Exploring the ice caves The first thing to do is to find out if the caves are accessible. You can: Call Ice Line Visit the official FB page of Apostle Islands National Lakeshore Visit the National Park Service (NPS) website The mainland caves can be accessed from Meyer’s Road, located four miles east of Cornucopia and 18 miles west of Bayfield. The part of the lake in this area is often blanketed in ice, and if sufficiently frozen, the ice serves as a bridge where you can walk, snowshoe, or ski across to get to the caves. The nearest caves are about one mile from Meyer Beach, and the entire stretch goes on for a few miles more. Before heading to the location, check the weather conditions in the area at the National Weather Service website. The entire visit can take up to three hours, so consider if you and your family or friends can withstand the temperature for the duration of the visit. The ice can be extremely slippery. Wear sturdy boots and ice cleats. Ski poles can help keep you balanced. Temperatures can go below zero, and wind chills are common. Wear warm clothing, preferably layers you can peel off when the temperature rises. Be mindful of falling rocks and ice inside the caves and in the vicinity of the cliffs. Guest access We currently have the Lake House and deck available for you. There’s a pole barn and a boathouse that’s not accessible for you. Next summer, we intend to give you access to the boathouse itself, with kayaks and floaties and such! Other things to note This is a NO SMOKING and NO Chemicals like Deet or Non Reef Safe Sunscreen. We are on a Coastal Seaplane and we protect it for everyone's enjoyment(including the fish, birds, insects, plants, soil, water, and other animals too. Please join us if you value that as well!
