Our 19th Century Maison Bourgeoise with its stylish boutique B&B is set in 1 hectare of lush grounds in the village of Saint Chartres near Moncontour. Surrounded by the peaceful green woods of la Vallée Divine and clear flowing waters of the river Dive, it offers a truly special and soothing place to stay. Lose yourself in the simple pleasures of life in the French countryside. Our little piece of paradise is beautiful and you will love it here! We are open for bookings from May-October. The space Our house and outbuildings are situated around a large south-facing courtyard garden, which is arranged in a relaxed formal layout of central lawn and surrounding ornamental shrubs and flower beds, with trees providing cooling shade on the hottest days. In the field to the side of the house, which borders on the river Dive, we have created a large potager which provides most of the super healthy ingredients for our table d'hôte meals. The Studio, our boutique bed & breakfast accommodation, is situated opposite the main house. It is a light and airy space under the eaves, accessed by old stone exterior steps and decorated in a fresh contemporary country style, featuring French vintage furniture and lighting as well as handmade curtains and bed linen. You come here because you seek blissful relaxation! There are no shops in Saint Chartres and you will need a car to reach these in the surrounding towns and villages. The nearest restaurant is about 13 km away, however we offer delicious table d'hôte meals here at our home. We offer free private parking and have bicycles available should you wish to explore the valley.
