Pets welcome The space A pretty whitewashed stone cottage of great character, with sheltered and charming garden, in a quiet but not isolated residential hamlet of the lower Wye Valley. One of our two 5 star cottages ( not a complex they are individually located) managed by a husband and wife family team . Stylish, comfortable modern facilities This cottage has an official 5 star grading and has won numerous national awards. Central heating to 21C , hot water and electricity, included all year as are quality linens and towels. Fresh flowers , milk,cakes ( seasonal variation) await each new arrival with our compliments.Table is laid and beds ready to slip into. Very comprehensive equipment includes , 6 TVs, DVD players, USB ports, Bluetooth speaker, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, range cooker, fridge freezer, hairdryer, safe, WiFi. Free of charge on request we have childrens equipment including highchair, travel cot, changing mat , in bath baby seat, second stairgate . We have a bowl and a paws towel for your dog. We charge extra for pets and up to two medium sized dogs are welcome ( we call a labrador/springer type medium) . They must be friendly family pet types.We sometimes accept 3 dogs if very small please ask. UPSTAIRS We have four bedrooms and one bathroom Our stairs are straightforward , gated at the top, and have a good handrail. 4 bedrooms upstairs. One Superking 6ft bed room with TV, safe, USB ports, One double bedroom 4ft 6 bed with TV 2 single 3ft bedrooms with TV All bedrooms have wardrobes, bedside lights,hairdryers, their own radiators and TVs with DVD players A travel cot is available on request and fits comfortably into either of the two single rooms. Upstairs bathroom with bathtub and dinnerplate headed shower over bath / WC The upstairs bathroom is fully tiled and WC, washbasin, shaver socket.Radiator DOWNSTAIRS Foxes Reach has a warmly comfortable sitting room with oak floor, thick rug, woodburner and flatscreen digital satellite TV, as delightful to relax in after the hot tub or on a summers evening as for opening your Christmas parcels. The very well equipped modern fitted kitchen with range cooker is open plan to the dining area with its original thick stone walls. Whether watching the TV/DVD or chatting to friends round the table the holiday cook is not isolated. There is a back door from the dining room to outside and a door from the kitchen end to the hall with hanging space Downstairs there is a smart limestone/travertine Fired Earth shower room with a good shower cubicle, double showerhead ( one has a dinner plate rain head) , WC and washbasin OUTSIDE The pretty garden is fenced and gated for the safety of children and pets though we have no noisy busy roads. There is a terrace with large table, brolly and chairs, a second little bistro table in the courtyard, sun loungers in summer, and of course the gorgeous hot tub, which is particularly wonderful as the sun goes down and on starry nights. There is private off road parking with a tarmac surface for two cars, three at a push. Accessed from the courtyard is a spacious lockable laundry/boot room with sink, excellent washer dryers and boot racks. Perfect for drying hot tub, swim and golf wear. We have a charcoal barbecue and a rotary washing line and various outdoor games Central heating included to 21C 6.30 am to 10.30 pm daily Superfast WiFi included. A wealth of sightseeing close by including Chepstow and Raglan ancient castles, Tintern Abbey and the market towns and museums of Chepstow and Monmouth.Lots of outdoor activities and places to please children. Open and heated all year Spring, autumn and Christmas breaks available Excellent family reunion , romantic break and and honeymoon choice The cottage is easily reached, being about 1 mile from historic Tintern , 15 minutes drive from both the Severn Bridge (M48) at Chepstow, and the dual carriageway north to M50 / M5 / M6 / M42 at Monmouth, making it a convenient choice all year round. A perfect location for families and walkers - Tintern Abbey and a myriad of other historic, sporting and family friendly attractions are easily reached. We have many walkers - every walk type from easy lanes and forest from the doorstep to canalside , riverbank and open mountain all available well within an hours drive or less. Fishing in lakes and rivers is locally available .This cottage is also often chosen for honeymoons , family reunions, anniversaries , and significant birthdays by couples requiring the luxury of a little extra private space. Guest access We have a couple of cupboards we keep locked as they contain things we need to manage the cottage between guests. Otherwise its all yours. Our personal items are not at the cottage and you do not share the house with others. Other things to note We welcome up to two continent and non aggressive family pets. We charge extra for pets. £15 per pet for up to 4 nights. £25 per pet for up to 7 nights. We might accept 3 pets on request if there are only two or three humans staying. please ask . We have very strict rules about not leaving dogs alone in the house. They quickly become distressed feeling abandoned in a strange place . Its because we love dogs that we have this rule.We will hear the howling. This area is very pet friendly so there is no need to leave them! We have a comprehensive set of infant equipment available free of charge but you need to book it as it is kept in store. We ask you not to use the hot tub before 7 am or after 11pm in order not to cause disturbance to our excellent neighbours in this lovely quiet place. New Years Eve is an exception -to 1am! There are numerous brilliant pubs and eateries within about 2 miles.
