There are cafe, takeaways and eateries within walking distance, as well as supermarkets and shopping centres within quick driving distance at Currimundi, Wurtulla and Kawana. Caloundra's central business district and shops are just a few kilometres to the south. A children's playground, Bbqs, and picnic tables are out the front. Overlooking the lake's entrance is a coffee shop and a cafe. There are many walking and bike riding pathways around the lake and surrounding areas. Walk along the two kilometre stretch of sand to Dicky Beach and return via the walking trail is a popular pass time.
