The space Access to the vacation rental is via a dirt road for 1 km (dead end); it is recommended to drive slowly, because the road is dirt (private), and can be bumpy at times (a functional speed bump for the flow of water, is halfway). During this beautiful little journey you can admire the estate, its castle, its herds of cows, its meadows, its woods from which deer emerge and its panorama, and you will be delighted by this very beautiful introduction. The house is very healthy, because it is built on a rock and on a mound. It is well insulated, thanks to a roof that has been redone, windows with double glazing: the house keeps the heat well in winter (especially when the fireplace is lit) and keeps the cool in summer (very thick dry stone walls). In summer, you will enjoy the hard terrace built behind the house, with magnificent panoramic views as far as the eye can see, magnificent sunsets, and with very convenient direct access to the kitchen. 3 bathrooms will allow each family to have their independence in the interior space. Shower or bath. The common room is very warm, for evenings by the fire in winter, or large tables. The interior architecture has kept the proportions of the old days, with doors and windows with rustic dimensions. Openings were created during the renovation for a very nice brightness inside the house. The house is an old farmhouse dating from the 17th century, so some volumes have been preserved during the renovation in order to preserve the historical authenticity of the building, and 3 of the doors of the house have remained low: the two doors located on the floor going to the bedrooms, and the door going from the living room to the kitchen. These doors are 1.75 m high: people taller than 1.75 m must be careful when going through the doors not to bump their heads. All the electricity in the house is refurbished, and provides all the electrical comfort for everyone's needs. The kitchen is spacious, very well equipped and functional, all the small appliances are available for cooking and gastronomy enthusiasts (yogurt maker, wok, electric citrus press, 2 raclette appliances, waffle maker, blenders, plancha appliance, substantial cookware, pie oven, rotisserie...), and the kitchen equipment is one of the main assets of the house. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and warm. Two bedrooms, upstairs, are under the attic converted during the renovation in the old grain attic. One of the rooms located on the ground floor is arranged in the old renovated pig barn, with bay window overlooking nature, the sunset, the grove, the oaks, the fruit trees of the grove and the wild animals coming to pass. Outside there is a swing for children under 10 years old, a hammock, and a large space of 3000 m2 to play, run, observe nature. 2 barbecues, 4 garden tables, and their chairs, deckchairs, several parasols. Outdoor games, guinguette lighting will extend your summer evenings in one of the shaded corners of the property or the terrace. A pétanque court, a Bonzini foosball table. An authentic bread oven is built near the house and testifies to the history of the place. In the 1950s, this large farm was the most modern and active in the municipality. Many bricks with the effigy of the Villedieu testify to a past of tiles made directly on site. The house is surrounded by meadows where two herds of Limousin cows graze in peace. Sunrises and sunsets are exceptional. Guest access Guests have access to all rooms (6) except one, as well as the outdoors (3000 m2 enclosed land). The meadows beyond the fences are not accessible, due to the presence of herds of cows that can be dangerous (do not leave children unattended and in no case should they pass the fences). Other things to note If possible, do not go upstairs with your outdoor shoes because the house is on one level, and faces, as are the typical Limousin houses, directly onto a meadow, which depending on the weather can be more or less dirty. Bring your firewood for the fireplace (in addition to central gas heating), otherwise it is possible to use the wood stored outside, according to an optional package. All beds are fitted with mattress pads (40x40 mattresses and pillows) and warm blankets. Bring your sheets (mattress cover, duvet cover 90 or 160, top sheet, and pillowcase), tablecloths, towels, tea towels and shower mats; possibility to request a linen package for 130 euros or 10 euros/bed. Avoid coming with just sleeping bags, without sheets, as a hygiene measure (do not sleep on the mattress covers). Provide boots for walks, and depending on the weather. A cleaning fee is requested. Please note that the water from the OUTSIDE taps is not drinkable and is only used for watering, it comes from a source unfit for consumption. For the dishwasher, it is advisable to rinse the dishes well before putting them in the machine, and preferably, provide dishwashing liquid rather than tablets. Also use a rinsing liquid.
