Skip the ordinary Airbnb with our historic Schlyer Place! Enjoy the Queen pillow top mattress (medium firmness), and a full size pillow top mattress with medium firmness. For extra guests, a queen sized firm pull out couch. Enjoy our 100% organic cotton sheets to keep you cool and comfortable. Turkish cotton towels are plush but dry quickly. We offer high speed WIFI, Roku TV to log into all your streaming favorites, in apartment air conditioning and controls and driveway parking. We provide fresh local coffee, assorted tea, creamer, and organic eggs fresh from our hobby farm. Don’t forget basic cooking supplies for all your cooking needs. Cold Brita filtered water in the fridge and a few snacks to enjoy. Locally made honey and jam can be found when in season from the Farmer’s Market! All natural bathroom products and epsom salt for your relaxation. Enjoy the antique newspapers found during the restoration and local art! Enjoy the evening with our outdoor fire pit, the amazing wrap around front porch and charcoal grill. *All outdoor spaces are shared with the second floor apartment. Although we would love to host everyone, please make sure to read through the entire listing and photos to make sure it's the right space for your needs :) Guests may access the back stairwell, the basement laundry, the wrap around porch and the front yard and backyard. Please note that the basement laundry, backyard, front yard, and wrap around porch may be shared with other guests. Your apartment is completely private however. You will only see us if you need us. We are 1/2 a block from Main Street. Close enough to everything but tucked away just enough that the neighborhood is quiet and relaxing. Walk to FHSU, Lark’s Park, Hays Aquatic Park, and enjoy all the entertainment, food, and shopping downtown Hays has to offer. You may park in the driveway located off of Oak Street. There is plenty of street parking as well. There is a Taxi Service and Uber. We are less than 10 minutes from the airport. We also have Bird scooters! Download the app to ride around town! QUIRKS OF THIS APARTMENT : -This house was built in 1893. Although we have a modern kitchen and bathroom, we’ve taken care to restore it back to 1893. There are antiques and the floor creaks. -There is another apartment above you with historic wood floors. Expect walking noises and murmuring. If you are a light sleeper, each bedroom is equipped with a white noise machine. -Please be aware that the laundry room is in a 120 year old basement. Although we have updated and renovated the home, some old home characteristics are still present. PETS -There will be an added $30 a night fee, per pet per night, if we accept your pet request.
