Description
Marfa House is a restored historic 1892 railroad hotel located in the heart of Marfa. The Rio Concho is a second-floor efficiency unit with private bathroom. It has a private entry from and direct access to the Marfa House front balcony, which offers comfortable outdoor seating and a changing view of down-town Marfa. Rio Concho offers a King bed that may be configured as two twins, a walk-in closet, a mini-fridge and coffee-maker, free Wifi, and access to comfortable common areas. The space Rio Concho features a king-sized bed that may be configured as two separated twin beds if the guests desire. It also offers a mini-refrigerator, a coffee and wine station, and a 32-inch Roku TV. The room has comfortable seating, a small desk and chair, a walk-in closet for hanging clothes, and a bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower and natural light. Guests enjoy original art, including pieces inspired by Picasso and Basquiat. Guests also have access to common areas, including a spacious gallery with gas fireplace, a second-floor balcony, and a screened atrium with large TV and firepit. Guest access Rio Concho guests access the property by walking up the paved and lighted walkway to a gated courtyard at the rear of Marfa House, entering the screened atrium entry with a keycode, and into the downstairs hall with a keycode. Rio Concho is accessed from its keypad entry entered from the common front balcony: guests will go up the main stairs, turn left down the upstairs hall and walk toward the front balcony, turning right on the balcony to reach the Rio Concho entry. All guests have access to the common areas: the front gallery, the front balcony, and the screened atrium with firepit and a large-screen TV. Other things to note Marfa is a railroad town: established in 1883 as a water stop on the Southern Pacific Railroad. Marfa House was a railroad hotel and is still located 100 yards from the SP tracks. Trains pass through up to 12 times a day and sound their air horns at the three main crossings in town, so guests may hear TRAIN SOUNDS at any time of the day or night. Most of our guests are not bothered, and we believe this is part of the romance of West Texas.
