Paul's Folly: a modern back-to-nature experience

The space This beautiful four-season chalet has all the modern considerations: dehumidifier, central air/heat pump, central vac, food fridge, beverage fridge, two sets of double kitchen sinks, washer/dryer, wall oven (includes convection option), microwave, bread machine, waffle maker, air fryer, bartending utensils, choppers, stand mixer. Indoors, there is both a handy wood stove with an eco fan, and a beautiful fireplace with an insert and fan to circulate heat or cooling. Outdoors, there's a sunken potash kettle fire pit. Substantial outdoor seating is provided for the various areas (fire pit, stone deck, dining deck, lakeview lounge), and on the covered utility porch there's a wood pile, a bbq, and, additionally, a smoker for aficionados! For anglers, the lake has rock and largemouth bass, perch, brown bullhead, pumpkinseed. For indoor bonding, a plethora of games, dvds and puzzles will suit most tastes. Fairly extensive, eclectic library. Adventurous, determined sorts may venture eastward on Wadsworth Lake, up the beaver dam terraces and beaver impoundments, leading to a small beaver-engineered lagoon. Others may choose to swim Wadsworth's breadth to a lovely rock point (we recommend taking a spotter along in the pedal boat for safety). 2400 square feet. Sleeps 8. 3+1 bdm, as the main floor den has twin bed accommodation. The ground floor bedroom (queen-sized bed) combined with main floor bathroom makes this listing comfortable for those with minor mobility issues. The den is quite soundproof from the main house, suitable for isolating later/earlier activities, or light/late sleepers. Upstairs, one bedroom has a king-sized bed; the other has a queen-sized bed. In addition to air conditioning, all bedrooms and common areas have ceiling fans. Wonderful, drinkable well water gushes from every tap, so the property is completely safe for children; this water is tested regularly, and has never failed. Please protect our environment; we encourage our guests to avoid using plastic water bottles. Wadsworth Lake is a small, limestone-based lake, resulting in excellent water quality. So the lake features great swimming in clear spring-fed water and very limited motorboat traffic. A public boat launch is located on the south-west end of the lake just off Weslemkoon Lake Road. NB: Please be aware that Paul's Folly dock is down the hill and across the road from the property. Guest access Property is close to extensive ATV trails, and 20 minutes down the road from Weslemkoon Lake, a huge lake, famous for its cliff jumping and extensive crown land protections and world-class fishing opportunities. There are two general stores nearby, one just south on Highway 62 and Weslemkoon Lake Road, which also serves budget friendly food. The other is a larger convenience store a few minutes north of this on Highway 62, with gas and LCBO offerings. Bancroft Ridge Golf Club and Marvel Rapids Golf are family-friendly, and 45 minutes away.
