The house is situated in a wilderness mountain area surrounded by breathtaking views of the Blue Mountains Escarpment and Nellies Glen. You will enjoy total seclusion, but you will be close to many adventures offered within the Blue Mountains Heritage listed area such as horse riding, bush walking and all the tourist venues in the area. No check ins for Sunday as we offer a relaxed checkout time on Sundays. The space Availability All bookings are a 2 night minimum Glenview" is located in Megalong Valley, a 15-20 minute drive from Blackheath. The drive includes 2kms of unsealed road. The house is accessible by most vehicles, though cars with low clearance should take care. Roads in Megalong may be subject to flooding, snow and ice during severe weather. "Glenview" consists of 168 acres, with the land varying from open fields to thick bush and rugged terrain. There are un-fenced waterholes, creeks and steep, rocky ravines on the property. Childen would need to be supervised at all times. Native birds, mammals, marsupials, arachnids, reptiles and insects are common. Guests should wear appropriate clothing and footwear and be mindful of safety at all times. Whether open or closed, all gates should be left as they are found. Wildlife and livestock should be observed, but not approached or disturbed. The House The house is entered from the car-park, there are no stairs to enter. The living area consists of a lounge, dining and kitchen. The Main bedroom has an ensuite shower and wardrobe. At the other end of the house are two more bedrooms, one with a queen bed and a clothes rack and the other with two king single beds and a built in wardrobe. All rooms have views and access to the deck, which wraps around all sides of the house. This area includes the second bathroom and the laundry. Being located in bush-fire-prone land, outdoor fires are strictly prohibited in the summer months. Guests have private and exclusive access to the house and the six-acre paddock surrounding it, but are welcome to explore the rest of the property by foot. Due to recent unprecedented rain storms, guests are asked to not drive on the other roads on the property. Features of the property itself: • Just 2 hours from Sydney, most guests can drive there without having to stop or come into contact with others • Self check-in and check-out means you can arrive/leave any time (after check in/before check-out times) without having to meet anyone • The house is completely isolated, with the nearest neighbour more than 300m away and only four occupied homes within a 1km radius • Set on 168 acres, there’s plenty of space to get outdoors, go for a walk and enjoy nature, without having stay cooped up in order to “isolate” or avoid others • A large fridge/freezer means you can stock up and avoid unnecessary trips to the shop during your stay • Hard floors throughout the house have NanoSilver® (a non-toxic, naturally occurring antimicrobial agent effective against bacteria and viruses) built into the surface. • Large sliding doors and/or windows in every room, allow for easy ventilation • Being a private home, you’re not sharing common amenities with others; and • Given the wilderness of this region, there are so many things to see and do where you can avoid crowds and enjoy the fresh mountain air. We’ve always prided ourselves on cleanliness, which is reflected by so many of our guests’ reviews. We trust these measures and features reassure guests that their choice to stay at "Glenview" was the right one. If you have any questions, special requirements or suggestions for how we can improve on any of the above, please reach out to us. Of course, we understand some guests may be considering rescheduling their stay. We have reviewed our cancellation policy to accommodate change requests and minimise costs. In this case, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your plans. Guest access The front door is accessed by a key from the key safe.
