The Happy Hamlet - A special hidaway

The space The centuries-old but freshly renovated "The Happy Hamlet" consists of a Guest House with 5 large beautifully decorated bedrooms, a huge open space barn with a fantastic kitchen, a natural pool, a sauna in a barrel, several outdoors terraces, a field for petanque and over 30 acres of wild nature around, only for you to enjoy! We're known for a charming ambiance, attention to detail, and friendly service - you're welcome to visit & experience those yourself.. Bienvenue! Each room can accommodate up to 3 people and has its own beautiful bathroom with a window. The comfortable single beds can be put together to make a double, and all rooms have an extra bed option. The maximum sleeping capacity is 15 guests. Each piece of deco has a story to tell, either it's followed us from the pitstops of our lives before (be it New York, Horn of Africa, Finland, or other) or it has been found on one of the numerous brocantes and markets in the region or in the hamlet itself and recycled by our own hands.. They say one man's trash is another one's treasure, right? The oldest writings we've found on the attic date back to 1580, so just find a cozy corner, sit or lie down, close your eyes and let the walls (and your imagination) do the rest! The huge open space barn is your "living room" with a top notch kitchen and common areas, a platform for yoga or workshops or eating in, a lounge with a piano, board games, books and magazines, and an intimate dining salon on the lower floor. As much as our guest house and barn are appreciated, most of the year is spent outdoors - meals al fresco on one of the many terraces, a nap in a hammock under the fig tree, or an afternoon apéro by the natural pool. There are various sports equipments and bikes for the more actives - and the region is full of gems to be discovered (we'll provide you with tons of information before your arrival!). Welcome! Guest access You also have access to the natural swimming pool and to our wood-fire-sauna (in a barrel!), which we'll heat up for you on demand. We have 13ha (or 30+ acres) of own land, perfect for walks or pique-niques in fresh air and tranquility you can only find on the true countryside. Around the house and the barn you'll find several terraces both in the sun and shade - and if feel like a nap in a hammock you're all set for that, too! Other things to note The feedback has been overwhelming, from guests stating "I will never want to leave" upon arrival to tears with thank you's at departure.
