Ekodrom Estate - Plant House

Ekodrom Estate is located in central Croatia, just an hour from Plitvice Lakes national park. It's surrounded by orchards and forests with spectacular views of the starry sky. We offer our guests one of the most unique accommodations in this area, enjoy all modern commodities in our recently renovated traditional wooden houses . A great place for spending holidays, quiet nature far from the noise of bustling cities but close enough to rivers Mrežnica and Korana with lots of swimming spots. The space SPACE The Plant House is a cozy and functional house with an open space concept. On the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen connected with a dining area and the living room. From the sunny and airy ground floor you can step into the beautiful terrace over viewing the plum orchard. The covered terrace is turned south-east so there is a lot of sunny spaces and enough shade where you can enjoy in hammocks or dining outdoor. Bathroom with a walk in shower & toilette is also located on the ground floor. In the living room there is a couch that can transform into a double sofa bed, a laptop friendly working space and a fire place. On the first floor two separated double bedrooms are located and connected with an open wooden hallway. The kitchen is equipped with basic cutlery, silverware and cooking essentials, a refrigerator & mini freezer, stove & oven and electric kettle. Guests can also use the common outdoor BBQ just a few steps away. The house is supplied with electricity, running water, free Wi-fi connection and linens & towels. There is also a washing and a dryer machine which you can use with hosts' assistance. Parking places are just over the road. The estate is located in an isolated and very quiet area since the road ends 500 meters from the house and there is almost no traffic. Next to the Plant House is another wooden house where the hosts are staying; so if you need any assistance we are right there for you but also we know how to appreciate your privacy if that's what you prefer. The house is located 10 km from the city of Vojnić where you can find basic things like the post office, ambulance, shops, bars and markets. For more extensive shopping we advice you to go to the city of Karlovac which is 25 km away. HISTORY Ekodrom Estate is an ongoing project which started in 2012 with the founding of the Ekodrom Association and planting organic plum trees on 7 hectares of land. The Association was started by a group of friends with the goal of exchanging knowledge about sustainable living in rural Croatia. Part from that, Ekodrom organized many projects and workshops like Ekodrom festival, carpentry workshops, organic gardening educations, music and yoga lessons, etc. In the last three years one property of two was completely renewed and turned into the Ekodrom Estate tourist platform. It is our wish to offer our guests an amazing stay in this beautiful countryside as well as offer them some knowledge about living in such environment. The property consists of 4 houses which used to belong to Grandmother Ljuba who spent her life in Bukovica. One house used to be a barn and other two were cattle stables. With great joy and many hours of work we turned this traditional constructions into modern houses in an amazing environment which offered a peace of mind to every visitor so far! THINGS TO DO Although central Croatia is less popular among tourists than the Adriatic coast, there are many interesting places to visit and fun things to do . The city that “lies on four rivers”, Karlovac is half an hour away by car. Rivers Korana and Mrežnica offer many locations for swimming and water sport activities. Very popular national park Plitvička Jezera is just an hour away by car. Also, there are places close by where you can go horse riding or biking. At our place you can enjoy nice walks in the forest, picking mushrooms and edible plants, preparing delicious food on a big barbecue or just chilling if that’s your thing. Guest access Entire house access with a spacy terrace, backyard and plum orchard. Big outdoor BBQ is just a couple of steps away. Other things to note A perfect place to reconnect with nature. We don't have TV so it is a perfect opportunity to recharge batteries and enjoy the quietness of the countryside. From the main road there is 1,5 km to our place. We have a cat Šlapica and a dog Azra who are also enjoying our guests!
