Description

Church View is a lovely period country cottage next to a Grade 1 listed Saxon Church in the ancient rural town of Bruisyard. Close to Aldeburgh, Southwold & the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Perfect for exploring Suffolk, birdwatching, walking, cycling or simply enjoying the peace & quiet. Sleeps 4 ideally (5 is a squeeze!). Bed 1 is a king size double. Bed 2 is a king size double that can be 2 singles on request. Bed 3 is a single. Several great food & drink pubs 5-10 mins away. The space A welcoming cottage with a 1000 years of history on the doorstep! Ideal for autumn breaks, short stays, romantic trips, beach visits, country days out and cosy nights in! This is a delightful three bedroom cottage (two double bedrooms and one single bedroom) that ideally accommodates 4 people max but can sleep up to 5. A high chair and travel cot may be made available if requested at time of booking. We can allow only one well behaved adult dog - but not upstairs or on the furniture :). Please note that despite our best efforts to get one installed we do not have an EV charger. It is therefore not permissible to charge electric vehicles from the cottage. The property has been tastefully refurbished and recently benefitted from new double glazing throughout. There is a small garden to the front with lovely countryside views & a pretty rear garden with shrubs, lawn & BBQ area - perfect for a relaxing glass of wine or two in the warmer months under the damson tree. Bruisyard is a peaceful countryside village. However if you want a change of scenery, the cottage is just 20 minutes or so from Suffolk's Heritage Coast, including the lovely seaside towns of Aldeburgh, Dunwich and Southwold etc. We are also a short distance from the world famous Snape Maltings - one of the world’s leading centres of music and a visitor destination of outstanding natural beauty. There are several very good food pubs within 5-10 minutes drive that are both people and dog friendly! We really are spoilt for choice. The cottage is within walking distance of Bruisyard Hall & Barn for those attending a family wedding or event there and looking for a convenient place to stay. By day, you can birdwatch either locally or take a short trip to nearby RSPB Minsmere. The dark skies of Bruisyard at night are perfect for star gazing. In August, look out for the glow worms! Bedrooms 1 & 2 will normally be set up as doubles. Bed 2 can be set up as 2 singles on request. Bed 3 in the loft, is a single. Guest access This is a self-contained holiday cottage with all amenities available. Guests will have the entire house to themselves. If we are not able to greet you personally, we will make arrangements for you to easily access the cottage on arrival. Other things to note There are electric heaters throughout the cottage. If you wish to use the log burner you will need to bring some logs and kindling with you - or buy some locally. The log burner will be prepared on arrival with sufficient logs for your first night. The hot water tank is also quite small so you may want to spend less time in it if others want a hot shower after you too! (There is a booster switch which takes around 30 minutes to reheat the water). The cottage does have internet access but remember this is the Suffolk countryside so may well be slower than you are used to! However it should be possible to surf the net, watch Netflix etc. on the Smart TV and send/receive emails. (Although possibly not all at the same time!). Bedroom 3 is a lovely loft conversion with exposed beams (and a low ceiling). However please note that the paddle staircase to reach it is quite steep and is therefore not suitable for all. Mobile phone signals can be intermittent so we encourage guests to use Wifi calling or other internet based services such as Whats-App to make calls from the cottage. The nearest pub serving great food (The White Horse in Badingham) is just a 5 minute drive away. Dogs and muddy boots are welcome there! Plenty of other very good places to eat and drink are all within 5-10 minutes by car. There is a guide book at the cottage which highlights where some of the best places to eat and visit locally can be found. Smoking is not allowed in any part of the cottage. We will make up sufficient beds for the numbers booked in your party. If you are a couple for example that requires more than one bed, please advise us in advance of your stay. Please note that despite our best efforts to get one installed we do not have an EV charger. In view of current energy prices, it is therefore not permissible to charge electric vehicles from the cottage without incurring a penalty charge.
