A warm Yorkshire welcome to Thresher Cottage. We offer a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Set in the in the heart of the Esk Valley within the North York Moors National Park. The area is renowned for its beautiful moorland and coastline, perfect for walking, bird watching, cycling, and fishing with an abundance of breath taking scenery. We are 13 miles from the coastal town of Whitby. The space Thresher cottage is a converted threshing barn, situated at the bottom of Fryup Dale in the North York Moors National Park, on a working farm. Fryup dale is a quiet unspoilt area. An ideal location for walking and touring the moors and coast, steam railway and heartbeat country. The farm is part of the North York Moors Farm Scheme, which involves conservation of farmland to improve wildlife habitats and the range of species found on the farm. There is 10 acres of mixed woodland next to the river, which includes a beautiful river walk for use by guests. Fishing is also available on the farm in the river Esk, with the purchase of day tickets from the local shop.
