Satterthwaite is an ideal location for those energetic guests who enjoying walking, cycling and generally ’the great outdoors’. The village also offers a fantastic local pub. Just 1 mile down the road and you find yourself in Grizedale, with a wide variety of woodland paths to amble along, numerous cycle lanes to enjoy and ’Go Ape’ for the more energetic among you, there is plenty to do in this area! Close by are the wonderful villages of Hawkshead, where you’ll find a good selection of traditional shops and local pubs, and Coniston, which lies beside Coniston Water, the third largest of the lakes in the Lake District. The famous fell of Coniston Old Man towers above the village and is frequently climbed from the village via Church Beck and the copper mines.
