The space We welcome you to our restored 17th century village house in the heart of beautiful Verteuil sur Charente.The property is at the foot hill of the chateau and only a stones throw from the river and mill.The village has 3 restaurants,wine bar,butchers,general provisions shop,Antique shop,Ladies and gents hair dressers,chemist and florists.Our property has a very large kitchen dining area on the ground floor,Which has air conditioning.The 2 bedrooms and bathroom are on the 1st floor.The bedrooms are set up as 1 double and 2 singles.To the 2nd level is a very large living room with views of the chateau.Our property has been restored back to the natural beauty and has antique furniture and fittings.The kitchen/dining area has plenty of natural light.The French farmhouse table will seat 6 people.The two bedrooms also have good natural light and plenty of storage..The antique beds all have new mattresses and are very comfortable.The property is fully set up for a pleasant and relaxing stay.A "Real" French holiday experience awaits you!Our property is registered with the Chambre de Commerce Angouleme as a Gite.We have also been approved by the Ruffec tourism office and listed on their website.Recently "James Martins" French Adventure was filmed on location here in Verteuil.Great brioche can be bought at the Moulin de Verteuil and next door at the local Boulangerie. Poland and Belgium. Guest access The property is on 3 levels (165 sq meters) and guests have access to all of it. Other things to note A small outside area by the river can be used by guests.A table and chairs can be provided if needed.For bookings of 1 week or more we provide a bbq and charcal.Fire wood for the fire in the winter months is included in the booking price..If you require food supplies for your first night we can do a super market shop for you by arrangement.In the summer months we can accommodate 2 extra persons in the main living area on the top level by arrangement.Please message us for prices. A booking for the Christmas week will include a festive hamper of Charentaise delicacies and a bottle of Champagne included in the booking price.Airport/Train station pick-up & drop-off by arrangement.
