Brook Lodge
Brook Lodge
Description
Brook Lodge is a spacious, open plan self-catering property for up to three guests who wish to relax and unwind or to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside for which Dartmoor National Park is renowned. Brook Lodge offers a comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding countryside and moorland. The space Brook Lodge is in the loveliest of settings, adjacent to our home and situated in 13 acres of beautiful, ancient woodland, complete with a stream winding its way through our land. On the ground floor is the living room with two sets of French doors, kitchen/dining room, 1 single bedroom with an en-suite shower room. The main bathroom has a shower over bath. Stairs leading to mezzanine double bedroom with sloping ceiling. If your are booking for 2 guests, please advise us if you would like both beds made up. Sorry, no children (except babes in arms). For the active, nearby are two golf clubs and horse riding is available on Dartmoor which is also famous for its superb walks, reservoirs, heather-clad tors, rock climbing, Dartmoor ponies and cream teas! There are many walks from Brook Lodge including a bridle path directly opposite our home leading to Mardon Down and nearby is a riverside walk at Steps Bridge. Dogs are welcome but not to be left unattended in Brook Lodge and must be kept on a lead whilst in the grounds as there are other dogs on the premises but also, we have an abundance of wildlife, including deer and pheasants and we are keen to protect their welfare. Parking (1 car only). NB: Stream in grounds 5 yards. Easy access to Dartmoor (8 miles), the cathedral city of Exeter (10 miles) and the Jurassic Devon coastline (14 miles). Shops and pubs 2 miles (Dunsford) and 4 miles (Moretonhampstead). Guest access Brook Lodge is self-contained with a sitting-out area with garden furniture. Off road parking available for 1 car only. 13 acres of shared woodland and field to explore. Lovely local walks. Other things to note As we are in the countryside, the mobile signal is extremely poor. This also affects our Wifi, which does vary, especially when there is bad weather. We appreciate this can be frustrating, but we have been advised that there is a little we can do about it.
