This is a 2 bedroom apartment (not a room) with everything that visitors to DC need: 2 big bedrooms with queen-sized beds: eat-in kitchen; bathroom with a vintage tub and shower. 1 bedroom has a lounge area with a tv & sofa. There is great Wifi and ample reading and work areas. One feature that makes this place special: a cool deck overlooking a quiet park. The apartment is located on the 3rd floor of a townhouse. The entranceway and stairway are shared. Otherwise it's totally private. The space The apartment is located in a charming Victorian townhouse decorated with antiques and original art. Access to the apartment is up two flights of stairs inside the townhouse. The entranceway and stairways are shared with the owner, who lives on the first and second floors. Otherwise, the apartment is totally private and there are no shared areas. This is a full apartment located in a town house; it's not just a set of rooms. The owners are art collectors and have decorated the place with artwork from their private collection -- paintings from Russian and French painters and professional photographs. It gives place an art gallery ambiance. The kitchen is equipped with pots, pans and everything you need for light cooking. A dining room table in the kitchen makes dining in easy. The apartment was also designed to accommodate business travelers. There area areas in each room for reading and and writing. It has terrific high speed Wifi and workspaces, complimentary coffee, tea and other goodies. We are located a very easy walk from major conference hotels: The Omni Shoreham (on the same street); and the Dupont Circle Hilton. The Washington Convention Center and other tourist attractions are a short taxi or Uber ride away. We also provide parking for up to a mid-sized car right behind the building. Since the space is often in high demand by other guests, we recommend that you request a reservation for parking it at the time you reserve the apartment. The rate is discounted at $12 per night for AIRBNB guests. Parking is not included in the rate for the apartment. It can be paid on arrival or added to your bill. Since the apartment is situated in a townhouse, there are a few basic house rules: Respect quiet hours: 11 pm to 6 am; Wear soft shoes or slippers when possible; no parties; no unregistered overnight guests. Please note that the rates for the apartment change according to the number of guests. Solo travelers pay our lowest rate. After one guest there is a charge of $25 per night per guest. When you reserve please put the correct number of guests in the "guest" field. AirBNB will calculate the correct amount to pay. We offer discounts for longer term guests. Please inquire with us if you have a longer term stay in mind. Guest access Guests have full access to all the rooms of the apartment. Besides one closet, where linens and materials are kept, the entire third floor is yours to enjoy. The first and second floors of the house are not shared. Guests are requested to respect the privacy and quietude of the residents on the floors below them. The is a no smoking place. We love pets but unfortunately we cannot allow them in the property.
