This area is a great touring and sightseeing base, it is close to historic Arundel with its castle, cathedral, wild fowl and wetlands, restaurants, pubs, inns, book shops, antique shops and cafes. The South Downs National Park, Chichester cathedral, Goodwood House and Races (Festival of Speed and The Revival), Fontwell horse racing, and the beaches of Littlehampton and Worthing are all close by, while the sandy beach at West Wittering is approximately ½ hours’ drive. National Trust homes and gardens such as West Dean, Nymans, Woolbeding, Parham Park, Petworth House and Gardens, Midhurst with polo matches at Cowdray, are all within easy driving distance, as are the cosmopolitan cities of Brighton to the east and Portsmouth to the west.
