A quiet retreat nestled amongst mature cedars, spruces and aspens over looking beautiful Dyers Bay, in Northern Bruce Peninsula. Situated on a hilltop surrounded by fall foliage, this place offers a private getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. A Hikers Paradise- 2 minute walk to The Bruce trail and short 6 minute walk down to the rocky shores of Georgian Bay. Well situated for easy travel to site-seeing hot spots: Bruce Peninsula National Park, Tobermory, and Flower Pot Island. The space 3 Sparrows Cottage is an open concept A-frame style cottage, with approx. 1200 sqft of open living space. Short Term License # Licence number STA-2025-30 Maximum number of guests: 4 adults OR 2 adults and 3 children. No extra guests will be permitted. This cottage would not be suitable for group of friends looking to party the night away No pets are permitted on premise We provide blankets and pillows but NOT Bed sheets or Towels. Please bring your own Bed sheets and towels. Should you not wish to bring your own Bed Linens or Towels, we can provide some for a rental cost of $50. Please let us know in advance to your stay so we can make the necessary preparations. Bed Sizes: Main floor bedroom: (double bottom bunk and single top bunk) Loft area: King bed and double bed Water: The water is potable but some people find the taste of the water off putting due to the iron present in the water. Therefore it’s best to bring some drinking water just incase. Heat Source: Heated by electric base boards, the wood stove is not available for guest use. This cottage is cooled with two large over head fans and is shaded by mature cedars. It’s stays relatively cool even in the hot summer months No smoking is permitted inside the cottage The cottage layout: Main floor: Kitchen, bathroom, great room, and bedroom (double bottom bunk and single top bunk) Loft: King bed and double bed with large windows overlooking the front and back of property. The kitchen is fully equipped with the following: -Propane Range -Microwave -Refrigerator/Freezer -Coffee maker -Electric Kettle -Toaster -Pots and Pans -Dishes, plates, bowls, cups, glasses, and cutlery Outside area: -2 decks situated on the front and back of the cottage -Propane Gas BBQ (propane provided) -Fire Pit- wood can be easily purchased along highway #6 vendor Guest access WIFI available TV can be used for accessing Netflix and YouTube. Netflix can be accessed using your own account details. Other things to note HST will be charged on all bookings made. The HST amount will be identified as "occupancy tax" or "Sales Tax" Cell phone reception and WIFI connection are available but can be variable due to weather conditions. Please be advised that coverage may be interrupted during your stay due to poor weather conditions. Due to the high winds and dense trees power outages can occur frequently, but they are usually resolved within minutes or within the hour. Power outages will impact the lights, use of appliances and bathroom as water will not work as the cottage draws water from a well with use of a submersible pump. It is always advised to bring some personal water just in case this occurs during your stay. The cottage septic system is very sensitive and requires a special care by guests. The peat moss system offers an eco-friendly alternative to traditional systems. The basic rule is do not put anything down the toilet other then natural waste and toilet paper. Please be conservative of the toilet paper used, 1 ply will be provided. There will be a jar under the kitchen sink for disposing of waste cooking oils and marinates. Bruce Peninsula has strict garbage disposal limits, please be mindful of your garbage production. You will need to dispose of it at nearby waste facility at the end of your stay or take it with you. If all garbage is not removed upon checkout a $50 disposal fee will be imposed. Please ensure that items are recycled when and where possible. As you are in cottage country, please be aware that there will be various bugs and animals to contend with during your stay. Ensure the cottage screen doors remain shut when not in use so no critters enter the cottage. Please come prepared with a DEET based insect repellent should you wish to repel biting insects like: black flies, mosquitos, ants, bees, and wasps.
