Beautiful cottage in the heart of Somerset

Clerks Cottage is a unique, characterful cottage in Baltonsborough, a bustling village with shop and pub in the heart of Somerset. Ideally situated to visit Glastonbury, Street, Wells and Bruton, and with easy access to Millfield’s senior and prep schools, The Newt and Glastonbury Festival. The accommodation is full of period features but is cosy and perfect for feeling like you're getting away from it all. The space The cottage consists of a kitchen with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric double oven with four ring hob, washing machine, microwave, kettle and toaster. A tea pot and coffee press are provided as are coffee, tea bags and sugar. Off the kitchen is the lounge/diner with sofa, smart TV, woodburner, window seats and the dining table. A fireguard is available if bringing small children or dogs. Upstairs there is a bedroom with comfy kingsize bed, blackout blinds and curtains, a large built in wardrobe with drawers and hanging rail. The shower room is off the bedroom and has a rain shower, heated towel rail and storage cupboard. There is a small outside area which belongs to the cottage in the church grounds (please note this is not privately accessed or fenced off) and a bistro dining set available for guests to use. Allocated parking is available, this is down a fairly narrow driveway so large vehicles should take care (free parking is available on the road). It is worth noting that the cottage abuts the churchyard , therefore there are gravestones visible. The church clock does chime through the night, most people don't even notice it but if you are a really light sleeper we recommend bringing some ear plugs. We have a travel cot and high chair available for hire if required as well as a selection of toys and children’s crockery/cutlery. Please let us know if you are bringing small children so we can ensure suitable things are there for your stay. Guest access The cottage is entirely yours for your stay. Other things to note The village pub must be the only one in the country which is cash only! There is a village store which stocks most essential items. In the winter we supply a starter set of logs and kindling. Extra logs are available in the shop, and also at most local supermarkets and garages.
