You are welcomed with crisp white cotton sheets, fresh flowers, and delicious offerings from our oven. The space A characterful cottage with thick, white painted walls, wooden floors, exposed beams and wood-burner style fire which use green electricity. Sleep in the comfy kingsize bed in the cosy bedroom with fresh egyptian linen. Unwind with bath salts and fresh towels, clothes may be put in a small chest of drawers or put on a few hangers in the bedroom. There is further space to hang coats on hooks downstairs, and a useful boot rack at the private entrance to “The Rookery”. We have plenty of space for wetsuits and outdoor equipment. The kitchen has a table for two and is equipped to include, cooker, under-counter fridge-freezer, sink, dishwasher and all you should need to prepare, eat and clear-up meals. The lanes are narrow and winding so take it slowly and let your passenger take in the stunning scenery through gateways and gaps in trees. Drivers must watch out for cows at milking, tractors in all seasons and pedestrians. Please remember to slow down for horse riders as you may be passing your host! Crediton is our local town, just under 6 miles away. It’s station and has regular quick services to Exeter for city sights and shopping, or Barnstaple and Okehampton for North Devon or Dartmoor. We are lucky to be only a couple miles from Morchard Road railway station which provides hourly links to Exeter and Barnstaple. There is a local village bus which will stop at our gate ((369), connecting you nicely to The Lamb in Sandford, other pretty villages, more great walks, and Crediton. Stagecoach run more direct and frequent services from the main road enabling you to explore North Devon, Crediton and Exeter. We find map based search engines excellent.
