"Yooper Retreat"

Cozy small-town house close to many of the activities Upper Peninsula Michigan has to offer. Time in the U.P. does not follow a clock, it is measured by your enjoyment. If you are looking for crystal palace, look elsewhere. This place offers the basic essentials in a typical Upper Peninsula small former mining community. Wi-Fi provided just in case the weather does not want to cooperate with your outdoor plans. Many of the floors recently upgraded. Bathroom updated to include shower/tub. The space No Parties, No pets, No Electric Vehicle charging. Even though off the beaten path, many lakes and rivers to fish and ski are within 20 miles. Multiple trail systems are close by. Ski Brule about 10 miles away. Young's golf course about 6 miles away. National Forests can be found within 20 miles heading in about any direction. Remember, if you select to stay here do not downgrade the location in your review. No one is forcing you to stay here. The house is a typical 1940's bungalow style (approx. 700 sq ft). Split entry to basement/main floor. Décor is "cabin like", yet comfortable to relax and serve as base for exploring the lakes, trails, and local communities. Located in quiet neighborhood with mostly fenced in back yard. Neighborhood roads a bit rough but helps keep traffic down. Has electric range, microwave, toaster and griddle available. Plenty of refrigerator room. Cooking pots, pans, and utensils provided. Plates, cups, and flatware are also available. Charcoal grill and picnic table in backyard during the warmer months. Please make sure you use grill, firepit, and picnic table in responsible manner (place cold ashes in can provided, etc.). Bathroom has been updated as of fall of 2022. Wi-Fi network name and password provided in handbook in house. Internet speed 6-8Mbs download and 3Mbs upload. Guest's will be limited to no more than 15GB per day of use (due to internet contract limits). Use of Internet constitutes agreement of usage limits. Unless arrangements made prior to stay, overuse may be billed as extra. You can compare this property with others in the area and will be difficult to find one with as many amenities and the place to yourself for the cost. Guest access Washing machine and dryer located in basement with detergent and dryer sheets provided. Please use machines responsibly. Clothesline available outside. TV available for movies. (DVD player and movies provided) NO Cable or Antena TV. Upstairs is not available. Other things to note The U.P. is noted for hard water. It is safe to drink, however bottled water may be provided. The basement can also be damp based on the season. There might be cobwebs as not used daily. My apologies up front, but this is not a crystal palace. This is our cabin and is a Non-Smoking property in the house (Including vaping, chewing, etc.). Pets are not allowed.
