🏔️ 150 acres of private wilderness in the Blaeberry Valley, 20 min from Golden. Private tent-only site nestled deep in the forest, total nature immersion. Three private waterfalls accessible via a private trail. Thomson Falls and several well-known trails less than 3 km away. Walk-in only — 30 to 50 metres from parking. Total seclusion, authentic wildlife and the Canadian Rockies as your playground. The space The Sleepy Bear Forest Camp — your private site deep in old-growth forest, surrounded by mountains, minutes on foot from the trail leading to our three private waterfalls and the Blaeberry River. ⚠️ Tents only — park at the entrance and walk 30 to 50 metres through the forest to your site. No exceptions. This site is for you if: You are an experienced camper with all your own gear You are comfortable with wildlife and bear safety rules You seek total isolation and raw nature You practice pack-in / pack-out principles No modern infrastructure — just the forest, the silence and the stars. Other things to note What "primitive off-grid forest camping" actually means: ❌ No drinking water — bring your own or filter from the creek ❌ No electricity — solar lights or batteries recommended ❌ No garbage collection — pack-in / pack-out only ❌ No vehicle access — 30 to 50 metre walk with all your gear 🚽 Shared outdoor composting toilet at the end of the trail Wildlife & bear safety: You are staying in active wildlife habitat. The following rules are mandatory: No food or waste left outside Secure food storage at all times Bear spray strongly recommended Daily encounters with bears, deer and raccoons to be expected Mosquitoes possible in summer — bring repellent.
