Rustic Cabin w/ MTN view/pond, near Asheville
Description
Come stay for a weekend or for a while, and we know that you’ll love the Dogwood as much as we do. Relax inside or take a day trip to Asheville. Tackle a challenging local hike and snag a wood fired pizza at Hometown Brewery in Burnsville. When you’re here, you’re home. The space The rustic cabin sits in a valley and overlooks a pond and mountain range. It is situated in a quiet community with a beautiful creek running right through. There are two bedrooms, one on the ground floor with a king bed, and one lofted bedroom above the living room with a full bed and twin trundle bed. This shares the space with the living room. There is a 1/2 bathroom upstairs off the lofted bedroom, and a full bathroom downstairs next to the kitchen. You'll find access to laundry, everything you need in the kitchen for cooking at home, and a fireplace to keep you warm in the colder months. The deck is a great place for a meal with a mountain view, or you can have a fire in solo stove on the grass. There is a nice big yard for playing with dogs or letting your children play. This is an ideal stay for a few people or a family. It is 850 sq feet so come with people you are ready to feel cozy with! We love animals and all Pets are welcome for a fee of $75. We do ask to be mindful as they are not allowed on furniture. Guest access You will be given a code 48 hours before check-in so you'll have keyless entry to the cabin. Other things to note This home is in the mountains, so you will likely encounter wildlife. You might see bunnies, turkeys, frogs, bugs, deer, or bears- oh my! If you keep food and garbage inside- they won't want anything to do with you :) We are a rustic 50 year old three season cabin so on occasion we do get a pesky small snake inside and in the early spring and fall we have lady bug season. You will find them on the windows inside trying to stay warm or fallen on the ground. We do have pest control come through every 3 months to keep us tidy but it does happen. Sometimes rural cabins are not for the faint of heart. Additionally it is an uninsulated cabin so temperature control may not be what you are used to. It has a mini split to control temp, however the loft can get hot. Please turn fans on or open a window once the sun goes down. We do recommend at dusk and dawn to have your wits about you when walking up and down the street for bears and do not approach if you get the pleasure of seeing them around! While there are some rentals in the area, there are some folks that live in the neighborhood full time. Please be respectful by minding the noise you make, as well as keeping fires tended to and trash and pet droppings cleaned up. We do ask pets to be on leashes if outside. You can park in the gravel driveway in front of the cabin. The stairs leading up to the loft are open, as is the loft itself (there is no door) children should be accompanied. The space is full of natural light and a lovely place to relax. Though I wish I could control it the ponds level does fluctuate depending on the amount of rain we get in the season. Sometimes it is to the brim and sometimes it is more grass than pond, but thankfully the Mountain never moves. Cell phone service is rare out here, but we have fast wifi (200 mbs up) so working or making calls should be no problem. We also have a smart tv for all your streaming needs. There are 3 stairs leading up to the porch/entrance to the property. There is an Ingles grocery store/Starbucks a 12 minute drive from the cabin which is a great place to get hiking snacks or fixins' for a meal. We provide basics in the herbs and spices department but bring the specifics if you need them. End of trip clean up: We do ask guest to remove bedding they used as well as wash and put away dishes. There is a $30 charge if dishes aren't cleaned as it takes time for our cleaning service. Minimum Booking age is 25
