Description
We are located in the idyllic tropical rainforest of the South Pacific Coast where the lush green jungle meets the blue pacific ocean. A region in Costa Rica that is regarded as one of the most biologically diverse places in the world. Zancudo is a sleepy village off the beaten path, unimpacted by mass tourism and crowds – yet supplying creature comforts with sodas, grocery shops, bars, eateries and plenty of activities for the solo traveler and families alike. The space As you pull up and open the gate, walk 2 steps to the house and open the double doors to enter a big living room/ kitchen and dining area in front of the pool and ocean. The two en-suite bedrooms are located through the hallway. The house has a full wrap around porch, and laundry area. There are plenty of hammocks, lounges, and an outdoor dining room by the pool. The village offers ample wildlife viewing opportunities year round, a near empty beach with perfect swimming and otherworldly vibes, set against the lush jungle backdrop with gorgeous black volcanic sands. You can hear and see the macaws, and watch the parrots, kites, pelicans & hawks fly by. Surprise guests like sloths, hummingbirds, capuchins and iguanas will hopefully greet you in our garden. The ocean in front of the house is calm with a sandy bottom. It’s perfect for swimming and boogie boarding. We’ve renovated a 1970s traditional beach house, handcrafted by local builders using Costa Rican hardwood no longer available. As stewards of the home, we’ve left all the original details including the wood and modernized with AC, Smart TV with Netflix. Alexa with Spotify and Amazon Music, Satellite Wifi (high speed) and a desk in case you have to work from home. Some of the nearby activities my family and I love doing at the house: beach combing, offshore fishing, boogie boarding at sunset, fishing for Jacks off the beach, fishing off the river dock, walking the beach, kayaking the river, renting ATVs and exploring the town, surfing nearby, jumping in waterfall pools, boat trips to see dolphins and whales, getting a massage on the porch or beach, soccer in the garden, swimming all day in the beach and pool, going to Pavones for breakfast and to watch the surfers on the break, visiting Tiskita lodge waterfall, beach hopping in Punta Banco and watching the wild waves, swimming in the rock pools and finding creatures big and small in all the trees. We hope you’ll love this slice of paradise as much as we do. ******* Frequently Asked Questions: Q: Do we need a car? A: No, a car is optional.
