This sparkling-clean, downtown, basement-level apartment has a private entrance. Centrally located near downtown in a quiet historic neighborhood that backs into the beautiful Rivanna trail. Stroll to the famous pedestrian Downtown Mall with fine dining and theaters, and to the brand new Wegman's store and shopping center. Enjoy a 40-minute walk, or a 7-minute ride to Scott Stadium, UVA's Rotunda, the UVA Hospital, the "Corner", and much more. The space CLEAN AND COMFORT: We take great care to sanitize and clean before any guests stay with us. Additional supplies are available upon request for you to make your stay more comfortable. This lovely and comfortable basement garden apartment is meticulously maintained to ensure you have a relaxing environment to rest in while you are in Charlottesville. AMENITIES: The apartment is fully furnished and ready for your stay. The amenities included are: *Wireless internet *Roku and TV with over the air channels *Dishes and cutlery *Microwave that doubles are convection oven *Electric tea pot *Toaster *Iron with ironing board *Basic toiletries *Hairdryer *Towels *Sheets *Blankets TEMPERATURE: Please note, the thermostat is on an upper level. The space is kept between 70-75 degrees. Beyond this setting, temperature adjustments can be made to within 2-3 degrees, upon request. Additional blankets are provided. If the temperature range options described above are too cold for guests, guests may open windows in warm weather or use the electric fire place that is provided in the apartment for additional heating as needed, it is very effective! All windows and doors must be secured upon leaving the apartment during outings and check-out time. ENTRANCE: To access the apartment entrance, walk past the left side of the house (sloped) into the backyard. TRANSPORT: PUBLIC: Just a block up is the CAT bus that travels back and forth between Wegman's and the Downtown Mall Transit Station. The bus stops by every hour between 6:30 and 10:30pm on Monday to Saturday. DRIVE: If you decide to drive, there is parking on the street for your car and no parking permit is required for your stay. Guest access Features a private entrance through the backyard. Guests will have full access to the entire lower level, including: 1 spacious bedroom, 1 full bathroom, spacious living room with space heater and TV, large kitchen with brand-new appliances, and a back patio. Guests have full access to the back patio, however the larger back-yard use is reserved for the owners. Please note: access to the apartment is on the left side (facing the house) and there is a slope to the entrance. Other things to note *NO SMOKING ON THE PREMISES* *Please note, for guests sensitive to sound, the heating/cooling and water heater motor can be heard inside this unit* 1) AREA: This is a residential neighborhood base from which you can easily and conveniently access the rest of town. 2) FOOD: There are dozens of amazing restaurants within walking distance of the apartment and many more restaurants within a short drive! There are also a few packaged food items provided in the apartment for guests' convenience. However, please be sure to check labels for any allergies or potential adverse reactions to packaged food ingredients. Guests are responsible for assessing their own food safety and health needs. 3) AMENITIES: Food, toiletries, cleaning supplies, pamphlets, and more are provided for guests' convenience. Guests are welcome to make use of these supplies. Please be sure to leave amenities such as toiletries and kitchen supplies in good condition for future guests. Guests are responsible for their own health and safety with regards to the amenities provided. 4) ALLERGIES: There are packaged food and toiletry items provided in the apartment for guests' convenience. However, please be sure to check labels for any allergies or potential adverse reactions to packaged food and toiletry ingredients. Guests are responsible for assessing their own food safety and health needs. 4) FIRST-AID: There is a blue first-aid kit on the shelf in the corner of the living room for guests convenience. For emergencies, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. 5) RESIDENCES IN THE BUILDING: Please note that this space is located on the lower level of a home and there may be occasional sounds from above of daily family life. Similarly, faint cooking aromas from the home above may occasionally be detected. 6) ANIMALS: While no dogs live in this home, it is a dog friendly home, with occasional dog-visitors upstairs. 7) COOKING: Also, please note that while the space does not have a stove, due to city building codes, there is a state of the art microwave/convection oven that can also be used for baking; as well as a teapot for boiling eggs or water for soups, teas, noodles; as well as a new coffee maker with a timer to have coffee ready upon waking up in the morning! 8) BED: There are a wide range of mattress types on the market. As the majority of sleepers statistically prefer firm mattresses, we erred on the side of selecting a firmer model to suit the majority of sleepers. However, please note that if you have a strong preference/need for a more plush mattress, please consider searching for properties that provide plush or orthopedic mattresses. 9) TEMPERATURE: Please note, the thermostat is on an upper level.
