Little Buttermilk Cottage

Our renovated, quaint, studio cottage is a 10 minute walk to the Redwoods, 5 minutes to shops and a short drive to the beach. Little Buttermilk Cottage is nestled in a private garden setting in the quiet neighborhood of Sunny Brae. We do have other properties so if our cottage is booked during your ideal stay please feel free to inquire! The space We invite you to stay in our beautiful, recently remodeled rustic eco chic cottage in Sunny Brae, Arcata. The cottage is bright and cheery with bamboo floors, ceramic countertops and locally made organic cotton/hemp curtains on all windows. Repurposed furniture is all handmade in the cottage! The space is set up like a studio, basically one small room that shares the kitchen, dining space, and a very comfortable and new futon couch. Little Buttermilk is ideal for two people but does sleep four. The Queen bed is a private bedroom nook, fits a tall and raised queen size bed with storage cabinets above and below. Please note there is a stool under the bed, but would be challenging to access for anyone who may have trouble getting in and out. There is a full bathroom with beautifully tiled shower, a closet for hanging your clothes as well as a separate dressing room. The Cottage hosts a wee but plentiful kitchen, perfect for preparing a simple but luxurious meal to enjoy on the private garden patio. Little Buttermilk Cottage offers a relaxing environment for a small family vacation, a romantic getaway or time away exploring the beauty of the Humboldt Coast! Guest access Little Buttermilk Cottage has its own private gated entrance where a short solar- lit path takes you back to your own private oasis. There is plenty of free parking on the street. There is a coded locked handle on the door so you may arrive anytime after check in and have access to the premises. Other things to note We have four cats who may try to come by for a visit, Leo is a loving long-haired Manx, Poncho is the fat grey beast, Bella is the little manx and JuJu is our scruffy little rescue kitty. Also don't mind the chickens if they escape! Bikes and BBQ may be available upon prior request.
