Frishøjgaard, Kornloftet, the unique holiday home

Welcome to “Kornloftet,” a beautiful 110-m² (1,184-sq-ft) two-story home built in the old barn at Frishøjgaard. Located 400 meters from the sea and decorated with care and respect for the original atmosphere, this is a very special holiday home. This is the place for the adult audience who really wants peace, quality time in beautiful surroundings and beautiful nature with lovely walks and bike rides. There is silence and no street lights that disturb the night sky! There is a private secluded garden and 2 terraces with various outdoor furniture. The space Our goal with this truly unique space in the over 100-year-old barn is to create an exquisite sanctuary for the adult audience, an oasis of peace from a hectic everyday requirement. Due to the logistics of a very old building, it has not been possible to make safety-related accommodations for children. Therefore, we unfortunately cannot accommodate families with babies or children under 12 years of age. Families with children over 12 years of age are, of course, warmly welcome! There are many original features here, such as old wooden floors, exposed roof rafters, old gable windows, genuine rugs, and original art on the walls. The home has been meticulously renovated to a high standard, with great care taken to preserve the place's charm and spirit. From the hallways on both the ground floor and the first floor, there is a full view through large multi-paned windows into the old barn where the farm's machinery and fodder are stored. A handmade staircase in an old country style leads up to the cozy, bright bedrooms and a new, functional kitchen with a dining area. One room features 2 comfortable seating areas, a TV with Chromecast and internet radio, and a sleeping area with a double bed. From the balcony door, you can see the sea through the avenue of very old trees, and you can sit comfortably in front of the French balcony, almost up in the trees "with the birds". Just the place to enjoy a meal or a glass of wine! From the other room, there is a view of the courtyard with half-timbered stable buildings, the beautifully landscaped riding arena, and a small orchard. Here, the double bed can be split into 2 single beds if desired. In the beautiful French country-style bathroom on the ground floor, there is plenty of space, heating in the floor and everything that belongs to towels, bathrobes and hygiene items. The attached garden is completely secluded and has both outdoor furniture and barbecue. In addition to the garden, the home has 2 terraces: one facing south with sheltered walls, garden furniture and a view of the water, and one facing west with a bench and small tables where you can enjoy the afternoon and evening sun. There is a private, free parking space for 2 cars. Guest access Our lovely vacation home, including the garden, terraces, and parking, is entirely for our guests. Access to the accommodation is booked at the base price for 1-2 guests; for the 3rd and 4th guests, a surcharge of DKK 75 per guest per night is payable. There is no charger for electric cars on the island. It is recommended to charge at the OK station at highway exit 48 Maribo, which is the closest. Other things to note As the home is built in an old existing building, it has not been logistically possible to furnish it for children under 12 years or babies and we therefore unfortunately cannot receive families with smaller children. Not suitable for those with walking difficulties due to stairs. We have placed great emphasis on making the home super attractive for adults with delicious details and great comfort. We have horses and cats on the farm and our sweet, very social cats can occasionally pass by in the outdoor areas. If you are allergic to cats, feel free to shoo them away!
