We are surrounded by rural horse properties and have magnificent vistas of the mountains. This is American country living at its best. Two suites avail. are listed separately because of their own calendars. In an elevated cove of Morongo Valley (3,000 ft. above sea level) it is 8 -10 degrees cooler than Palm Springs. The suite includes a living/dining room, bedroom, 3/4 bathroom and fully equiped kitchenette. The private space has a great overview of Morongo Valley with magnificent San Jacinto mountain range in background. Attractions: Morongo Nature Preserve - birds watching and hiking; Desert Hot Springs - swimming and soaking, Pioneertown with Pappy & Harriett - music and dining; Joshua Tree National Park; Revolving cable car to San Jacinto Peak; Snow sports 1 hour away; and much more. Horse stables in the neighborhood. We have a quite bit of wildlife and birds on our and surrounding properties. The entire outdoors of the property is open, plus you will have your private area. The neighborhood and the National Wilderness are open for roaming. Warning: the roads past the Highway 62 are not paved and slow speed driving is advised. I will greet you, introduce you and answer any questions you may have. I am a world-wide traveler and am well familiar with Southern California (actually the entire Western USA and Canada), and can give pointers about camping, hiking, natural hot springs, etc. Don't be shy to ask, there may be interesting features or sites along your travel route you may not be aware about. The two suites are attached to the opposite sides of the house and have their own outside space. Privacy is guaranteed. If your dog habitually barks indoors, or if you expect to be noisy, sorry, this would not be a good match for us. There is plenty of hiking around. The Morongo Wildlife Refuge for birdwatching, Joshua Tree National Park, Hot spring spas of Desert Hot Springs, and Pioneertown with famous Pappy & Harriet's music restaurant are near-by. It is 30 minutes to the center of Palm Springs. A country store is 2 miles away. Five miles away is Yucca Valley with all the shopping amenities. County bus goes to Amtrak train and Palm Springs airport. And, upon agreement I can provide a ride there too which may be more convenient if you have large luggage.
